Brooke thought she was dating Matt Rife, then she was added to a group chat.

Between beefing with six-year-olds and being savaged in reviews for his Netflix special, Matt Rife is in a world of pain right now.

And now, his ex-girlfriend has come out to claim she discovered he was talking to "20 women" when they were casually dating earlier this year.

He's a busy boy. Who has the time for that much small talk? How many "good morning babe" texts can one feasibly send each day? The admin alone sounds like a nightmare.

YouTuber and podcaster Brooke Schofield is now spilling the tea on her time dating the controversial comedian. Appearing on her podcast with co-host Tana Mongeau, Brooke shared some recent revelations she'd had about the time she dated Rife.

Brooke and Matt started a casual relationship in early 2023. "It wasn't this serious relationship... [but] I wasn't just hooking up with him," Schofield said on the podcast.

"I really liked him. More so from his end, he was the one who was initiating the conversations that were like, ‘I haven't felt this way about anybody in so long.' To anybody with common sense, it’s love-bombing."

Their relationship hit a bump when Schofield noticed that she made extra effort to go to the comedian's shows, but she wasn't getting that effort reciprocated.

"How embarrassing that I just did all of this and then you come back and you can't even spend time with me," she said, adding, "It happened a couple of times."

Rife ended their relationship due to a lack of spare time, Schofield claimed, saying, "I haven't felt this way about anybody in so long... but I can't put energy into this.'"

Brooke said they ended things on good terms, but then Rife appeared on her podcast in June and acted like he'd never met her before. "I didn't know he was going to come in and act like he didn't f**king know me," she said.

"He left and I was shaking, I was nervous. I just felt weird because I was like: 'Why are you pretending you don't know me?' It was the weirdest feeling."

A clip of Rife's appearance on the podcast has since gone viral. The video features Tana's iconic response to the comedian saying that people who hated him were simply jealous.

"Do you think people who hate Osama bin Laden are jealous of him?" she deadpanned.

In the full episode, Matt Rife goes on to joke "yeah of course! They're mad that he was the one calling the shots." People on social media are outraged by Matt Rife's delusional statement about Bin Laden, with one user stating: 'Humbling epiphany' followed by 'everyone who hates me is just jealous' is so lacking in self-awareness it's hilarious." #mattrife #mattrif#mattrifeproblematicfenaturalselection #naturalselection #tanamongeau #cancelledtanamongeau #trending #controversy #brookeschofield ♬ Funny video "Carmen Prelude" Arranging weakness(836530) - yo suzuki(akisai)

But back to Brooke's revelations!

Next came the stories from other women who claim they dated Rife at the same time as her. "I'm on TikTok the other day, and I get tagged in this video and it's her and Matt," Schofield said, the photos being from "the beginning of this year".

After messaging the woman, Brooke was added to a group chat with multiple "beautiful, strange women" who all claimed to have had romantic entanglements with Rife.

"There were timelines, there were Venn diagrams, we were comparing notes. It was so crazy," Schofield claimed. "For a man who doesn't have time, this man had the most time."

Armed with this knowledge, Schofield planned to confront Rife. There was just one little problem... she discovered he had blocked her.

"I go to send him a little message. I want to get my facts straight, as if my facts aren't straight enough," Schofield told her co-host.

"I wasn’t even rude. I just sent him a text, and I was like, 'How embarrassing is it that I'm literally currently getting dragged for defending you while also in a group chat with seven other girlfriends you had?'

"What the f**k? He blocked my f**king number."

It's worth noting that Brooke didn't say she was in a committed monogamous relationship with the comedian.

However, Brooke claims that Rife put restrictions on who she could date when they were together. "He’s telling me: 'I don't want you seeing [anyone], I don't want you to even look at another guy, I don't want anybody else touching you.' He didn’t want me hanging out with, like, my guy friends," Brooke said.

"If you’re telling me that I cannot hang out with guy friends, you don't want me talking to or hooking up with anybody else, then nobody in Central America should be receiving a dick pic from you."

Since their split, Rife has moved on to dating actress Jessica Lord.
