We’re not ashamed to say that weloveawards nights. And 2019’s Golden Globes did not disappoint.

But it’s not just the lust-worthy fashion, kick-ass acceptance speeches and sneaky photobombs that we’re here for. It’s also those easy-to-miss moments of entertaining brilliance.

So as we take stock of the night and the afterparty, here’s a round-up of the five moments you, like us, may have missed from the Golden Globes.

1. E! cleverly pranked Jameela Jamil.

Actress Jameela Jamil was at the Golden Globes as part of the stellar cast of Netflix’s The Good Place.

Those familiar with the show will know that her character, Tahani Al-Jamil, has a toxic relationship with her sister Kamilla, who is always somehow stealing her spotlight.

E!found a brilliant way to prank the actress – by referring to her as Kamilla Al-Jamil on screen.

Give #TheGoodPlace fan who works at E! one billion dollars for this savage insult on a shot of Jameela Jamil that would ENRAGE Tahani pic.twitter.com/2hetvBskIb

As Netflix pointed out, this would have enraged her on-screen character.

Jameela herself took the joke well, praising the person behind it for their ingenuity on Twitter.

Hands down the greatest of red carpet jokes from whoever did this. It’s made my night.

2. Macaulay Culkin’s hilarious live-tweeting of the Golden Globes in support of his brother Kieran.

Unfortunately, Macaulay Culkin’s Google ad didn’t earn him a Golden Globe invitation, but that didn’t mean we missed out on his quirky commentary.

From wherever he was watching the red carpet and awards coverage on TV, the former child star live-tweeted the event.

But while he was super excited about seeing his younger brother, Kieran Culkin, at the awards night, it was soon clear he had no idea why.

Oh my god, there he is! Hi, bro! pic.twitter.com/1Y3iG18bIz

You know, if y’all voted for me to change my name to Kieran I’d be at the Golden Globes right now. Just saying. #thanks

— Macaulay Culkin (@IncredibleCulk) January 7, 2019

HOLY SHIT KIERAN IS NOMINATED???

WHAT IS SUCCESSION?!

Man, I should really answer his calls more often. Thanksgiving is going to be really awkward this year. #GoldenGlobes

— Macaulay Culkin (@IncredibleCulk) January 7, 2019

This show is rigged!!! I was totally pulling for Winkler. #GoldenGlobes

(No one tell Keiran he didn’t win)

— Macaulay Culkin (@IncredibleCulk) January 7, 2019

Yep, as Macaulay was so surprised to learn, Keiran had been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture for TV for his role in corporate drama seriesSuccession.

Sadly, when his brother missed out on the award, the 38-year-old switched channels.

Fuck it, Alvin and the Chipmunks is on Nickelodeon right now. I’m gonna watch that. #goldenglobes l

3. Melissa McCarthy covertly brought snacks into the event, becomes our new hero.

Everyone knows that industry awards and presentation nights arelong. And often, the food stops being served just a few hours in, leaving attendees hungry for a late-supper snack.

For this reason, Melissa McCarthy became our new hero when we learned she secretly smuggled in 30 ham sandwiches into the event.

TheCan You Ever Forgive Mestar told Variety she brought the deli-bought sandwiches along to share with fellow actors on the red carpet.

"I’ve been handing them out to everyone," she said. "Next year, I’m bringing hot dogs."

And it turns out it was a very necessary move, as Jessica Chastain explained, celebrities walking the red carpet often actually miss out on dinner because it's served while they're still being photographed.

"How did she get them in here?" the actress wondered to the publication. "But it’s a good idea because by the time you get into the ballroom dinner has already been served, and you’re always so hungry."

4. Nicole Kidman's blink-and-you-miss-it on-stage snub of Rami Malek.

Not all our favourite moments were from the red carpet though. Nicole Kidman andBohemian Rhapsodystar Rami Malek's awkward encounter happened on stage for everyone to see.

It's just that until a Twitter user shared it, we hadn't noticed.

It was at the end of the evening, and Malek was on top of the world having just learned the Queen biopic had won Best Drama.

But when he went up on stage with the rest of the cast to collect the award, he had a cringe-worthy run-in with Kidman, who presented the category.

As the 37-year-old went out to embrace theBig Little Liesstar, arms outstretched, Kidman turned away.

It was nothing malicious, and appears to be a case of the actress simply not noticing him. But oh, it was hard to watch.

5. Chrissy Metz may have called actress Alison Brie a b**ch.

Now, we're not saying that everyone in Hollywood has to get along - there would, of course, be conflicts. We just weren't expecting for a feud to emerge in front of us on the red carpet of the Golden Globes.

Chrissy Metz appeared on the 2019 Golden Globes Facebook Live pre-show, where the actress spoke to the hosts about her showThis Is Us. They then asked her whether she knew fellow actress Alison Brie.

"Do I know her?" Metz asked as the camera panned over to the other side of the red carpet.

The hosts then asked Metz to introduce them to Brie and then Metz is heard saying what sounds like, "She’s such a b**ch", perhaps not realising her mic was still on.

— Amanda Sugarbaker (@hello_amanda) January 7, 2019

Now, we don't know for sure that's what she said. The audio is pretty poor. It could have been something completely the opposite, like, "She’s such a babe".

Or it could just be that Metz and theGlowactress don't' get along.

Neither host pulled Metz up on the comment and the actresses haven't publicly commented on the alleged insult - yet.

What was your favourite moment from the Golden Globes 2019?
