'I hate full-coverage makeup. Here are 5 products I use for a 3-minute makeup look.'

Yes! Three minutes. Would I lie to you?

You see, for someone who lives and breathes beauty, I'm actually very lazy when it comes to my own makeup routine. And more often than not — I prefer a minimalistic, low-key approach for my everyday face.

I'm someone who likes sheer, glowy, and skin that feels like I'm not wearing makeup. Not because I have anything against full- coverage (she's fine, thanks), but I've always really hated that thick, mask-like feeling. Also, my skin is notoriously dry and bi**hy, so for this reason, my base makeup (and my makeup look in general) usually leans towards a fairly sheer, lightweight coverage.

Now, over the years I've been slowly perfecting this tight, simple, yet effective makeup routine with a small slew of products that tick all the boxes in five minutes. And I've just about mastered it.

While the products themselves often switch up, depending on what I'm trialling at the time, the routine remains pretty consistent.

So, if you're someone who's partial to lighter coverage and a snappy routine, below I've listed some of my favourite products I'm currently using for the quickest, easiest makeup routine you'll find.

Mavala Tinted Serum Foundation, $49.50.

I've been meaning to tell you about this one but I kept it to myself. What a jerk! Apologies. But Lordy, it's good. It's new, too. It landed on my desk a few weeks back and I love it. It's one of those second-skin type formulas (it's a half-serum, half-foundation hybrid) that is light, easy to use and absolutely fool-proof.

You can apply it with your hands and it melts into your skin, instantly evening out your skin texture and covering redness and niggling spots. Your skin looks radiant, healthy and hydrated — but still looks like your skin (I love how you can still see my freckles!). Such a great newbie.

Pixi On-The-Glow Blush Tinted Moisturiser Stick, $33.

Cult brand Pixi recently launched this hydrating solid cheek tint — and it's a lazy girl's dream. Use it on your eyes, cheeks and lips, it's one of those on-the-go products that'll quickly become the MVP of your makeup bag

The cool part? It uses a pH-reactive pigment — so the formula reacts to your own individual skin tone, giving you a shade that's uniquely yours.

You also get a fair whack of product for the price you pay.

Rare Beauty All Of The Above Weightless Eyeshadow Sticks, $43.

In case you haven't met, Rare Beauty All Of The Above Weightless Eyeshadow Sticks are super creamy, blendable gel eyeshadow sticks that can be used to line your eyes or as an all-over colour on the lids. I'm obsessed with them and I honestly can't remember the last time I used powdered eyeshadow.

The finish is shimmery, but not glittery, and the shades can be worn together or alone, depending on what kind of look you want to go for. I love how they're absolutely mistake-proof — something you can throw on with just your fingers and not worry about getting perfect. My favourite shade is 'Contentment'.

MCoBeauty Xtend Lash Mascara, $19.39.

No surprises here. If you're a gal with eyelashes, chances are you've heard of the popular Xtendlash Mascara from MCoBeauty — it's one of the favourites in the You Beauty Facebook group and it's one of those formulas that always gets recommended for good reason.

Other than being nice and affordable (we love how you can grab it in the supermarket or chemist!) it does a very good job at making eyelashes look nice and full and spidery.

I love layering it (sometimes I switch it up and opt for the brown shade) — but it's just the bomb because it's super easy to take off at the end of the day and I'm lazy, so it's great (Leigh Campbell describes tubing mascara as "little socks for your lashes" and it's just the best and most accurate description).
