Here's the latest way Gen Zs can tell you're a Millennial, and honestly can we get a break?

First our dancing was too cringe.

Then it was barely visible ankle socks that were the giveaway.

And of course, the jeans we've been wearing are just far too skinny.

I could go on and on about the myriad ways Gen Zs have been using the internet to poke fun at "Millennial Core", as it has been dubbed. And now there's a brand new thing we're meant to roll up into a little ball and cry ourselves to sleep over: 

Wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

Yes, you read that correctly. Pairing a black t-shirt with a pair of jeans is officially out, according to Gen Z, and yes this feels like a... personal attack?

This latest roasting of Millennials is going viral on TikTok with footage of women in groups wearing this 'uniform' being posted left right and centre.

"It's giving depression," the voiceover says on one video, and look, I don't understand but I guess I wouldn't because I... am a Millennial.

It has sparked a big debate online with plenty of users coming forward and saying that they'll never wear the black t-shirt and blue jeans combo again for fear of being ridiculed by a younger generaton.

But as many comments as there are making fun of Millennials and their penchant for the casual outfit choice, it has also ignited a movement of people (presumably all born between roughly 1981 and 1996) who are proudly going to continue wearing the classic throw-it-on-and-go combo.

"You can rip my blue jeans and black top combo off my cold dead body," wrote one user, and girl, same.

"Why does anyone care? Just let women liveeee," wrote another.

"What do you want from us?" asked another, and I think it's pretty clear what they want but ANYWAY.

As this TikTok user so perfectly put it, it really does seem to be an issue plaguing women in general. Millennial or not, no matter what anyone wears, it always seems like we all have to answer for it.

But what the other Gens don't know is, when it comes to having a joke at the expense of Millennials and our tropes, many of us are just too tired to... care?!

So excuse me while I slip into my black tee, jeans and invisible socks, and wave my arms around wildly to my favourite early noughties tracks. I'll be ready when Generation Alpha declares it all cool again.
