The last 24 hours leading up to "tools down" on The Block during kitchen week was, as usual, absolute chaos.

House 5 had a good week, although they were faced with the difficult decision to let go of their builders.

Nonetheless, the teams were able to finish their kitchens with a few, er, seconds to spare.

Here are all the photos from Kitchen Week on The Block.

Kyle and Leslie.

Money spent: $33,740.

"Sexy" was how Shaynna felt about Kyle and Leslie's kitchen.

The ceiling curves were a real hit – Neale could perfectly picture House 1's vision and he loved it.

Aside from being functional and beautiful, the judges liked that there was plenty of storage.

The only criticism was that the floor plan felt wrong when it came to the butler's pantry. They felt it should have opened up to the backyard, which was in the initial plans. While there were some issues, the judges noted it was far from a disaster.

"Aesthetically, they're very good," said Neale. "Style-wise, they're very good. It is far from a disaster. There's a lot to like in this kitchen and laundry."

Shaynna agreed and so did Darren who said, "Less than perfect is still exceptionally good."

Neale thought the bench top was "absolutely gorgeous."

While there were so many types of materials, the judges felt they all worked.

Darren was "besotted" initially by the kitchen but the judges had huge issues with the smaller size of the island bench and the placement of the sink.

The butler’s pantry was great, but the judges wondered if it was actually necessary.

The other big issue was with the laundry, as you have to walk through the bathroom to get to it – a major mistake, according to the judges.

"I think it's a disadvantage to this house to have a laundry that is so snug," said Neale.

Shaynna added, "In my mind, I've got two rooms today that are a bad decision."

Money spent: $29,878.

The judges were all impressed with the burgundy bench top and thought it was so on-trend.

They also loved that the rest of Kristy and Brett’s kitchen was all white.

They did have issues with the size of the dining table, dining chairs and island bench chairs, but that’s about it.

Steph and Gian.

Money spent: $25,304.

The judges all thought the Japandi style of Steph and Gian’s kitchen was incredible and looked amazing.

But while it might be perfect for Instagram – is it functional?

The biggest issue, said the judges, is having the cooktop on the island bench. Not ideal if you are sitting on it at night, they thought. While they liked the butler’s pantry, they thought the whole space had serious functionality issues.

Their laundry, however, was very good.

Eliza and Liberty.

Money spent: $23,669.

The judges loved the bold choice of the orange oven and found so many positives about this space.

Darren noted that there had finally been a house that got the size of the island bench right. It is massive and a whole family could sit there for dinner, which all the judges loved.

Impressive storage in both the kitchen and the laundry – the best spaces the sisters have delivered yet.

"This is the correct way to do an island bench," Darren said.

As the scores were tallied, it was clear Eliza and Liberty and Kristy and Brett both had a chance of taking out the win.

When the sisters revealed they had a secret gnome and used it (although they would have won without it by half a point), all hell broke loose on The Block.

Both Kristy and Brett feel as though the girls are receiving special treatment.

Next week will be hell on The Block as the teams tackle their master bathrooms.
