The story behind the scene that led to one My Kitchen Rules team being removed from the show.

There’s a saying: “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

Well, things are about to get all fired up on My Kitchen Rules this Sunday, and we think that someone is about to be quite literally forced out of the kitchen.

An epic showdown between sisters Jess and Emma and best friends Sonya and Hadil has led to one of the teams apparently being cut from the competition, according to an interview in TV Week.

Things got so bad, Manu Feildel had to step in and try to extinguish the situation.

“This behaviour is unacceptable,” the 45-year-old chef told the contestants.

“Hopefully this is the first and last time [someone is sent home].”

It all kicked off during the Super Dinner Party, when Sonya and Hadil, both 30, started to criticise the sisters’ cooking abilities and question why they were still in the competition.

“Definitely not the top eight we expected in this competition, but it’s going to make it easier to beat them,” said Hadil.

“The fact that they’re here is an insult to anyone that can cook.”

Ouch.

The sisters labelled Hadil’s comments “offensive”, because, let’s face it, they were, and then the insults really started flying.

“You think you’re a princess, but a real princess wears diamonds, not cubic zirconia,” Sonya told Jess, 31.

“You look like Bubba Gump,” Emma told Sonya, 34.

“I’ve got a really good doctor you can go to that could fix your ugly face,” Hadil told Emma, 38.

Meanwhile, the other contestants sat there looking mortified, because what else is there to do?

Looking for another explosive TV show to sink your teeth into? Here’s an option that is just packed with drama.

And even though the fight ended with one team reportedly being eliminated, Jess said she has no regrets about the showdown.

“They started getting personal and went really low and nasty, so I don’t give a sh*t,” she told TV Week.

“I own everything that I do on set. I knew what I was getting into and I know why I said what I said.”

Yeah, don’t expect to see these two teams bonding over eggplant anytime soon.
