She's a BUSY woman. But for reasons we can't yet share (SO SECRETIVE), we recently found her slinking around the Mamamia office. So, we obviously pulled her into the You Beauty podcast studio for a wee yarn about her beauty routine. Duh!

Here, Sophie Cachia breaks down her entire beauty routine - so, get your notepads ready, friends!

So! Let's start with the obvious deets. Her face. What's it like?

"Growing up, I actually had really bad acne through my teenage years. I don't really experience that anymore - I get the typical period pimple and it always feels so massive, like the whole world will see it," shared Sophie. (Feels).

"But other than that, my skin is pretty balanced."

When it comes to the skincare products she reaches for on the regular, there's one specific range Sophie can't get enough of. And her MVP just so happens to be a popular cult buy you've definitely heard of.

Any guesses?

"I was conscious before coming in here that I'm going to sound like I'm speaking on an ad, but I've used Alpha-H now on my skin since I was like 23 years old. So, that's nearly a decade of my life. And if people have followed me, they would know that I'm Alpha-H through and through."

"I just find it works for me. One of my favourite things - because I don't have to do the step-by-step every single day - is the Alpha-H Liquid Gold. It's a liquid exfoliator."

Familiar? Of course you are!

"It's a little bit tingly and has so many active ingredients. For me especially, I have a lot of pigment on my body and my face - and I know we're in this beautiful era where it's like 'embrace your freckles' but I hated them when I was growing up. I got called 'freckle face' all the time."

"Obviously now as an adult, I protect my skin a lot better than I did when I was younger, but I was covered in freckles everywhere. Liquid Gold just really helps even my tone, but it's good in the sense that if you don't have time or you don't want to do that full cream, wash, tone, moisturise or whatever, it sort of does everything for you."

"If my face is feeling okay, and I don't feel like it needs a really big scrub, I will get a cotton ball and just give my skin a wipe over with Liquid Gold."

*Buys Liquid Gold in bulk*.

Apart from Liquid Gold, Sophie said she'll use Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser, describing it as "a straightforward cream cleanser."

On the days she's not using Liquid Gold (because it's a chemical exfoliant, you're going to want to space it out!), she said she likes to slather her skin with a hydrating serum, adding some moisture and battling off signs of dryness - Alpha-H Hyalronic 8 is her pick.

"I swear to God, my skin just feels instantly plumped after [using] it - it just makes my cheeks feel juicy. I carry it in my handbag so I have it on me all the time."

I mean, we would too.

When it comes to her everyday makeup look, Sophie said she's pretty flexy, and can either go one way or the other - minimal makeup or super glam - depending on her schedule.

"On a 'normal' day, I love no makeup. I'll go with my hydrating products, instead."

"If I want minimal makeup, Mecca Max have an illuminating primer - I think it's $20 or something. And that is enough for me to feel like I've got something on my face. It's like your skin but better. It's nice and glowy and really creamy. I love anything creamy that just melts into your skin."

"I'll just use some of that and some mascara, if I can be bothered!"

For mascara, she has both a bougie option and a savey option.

"The expensive one is from Benefit Cosmetics, of course - the Roller Lash Curling Mascara. Any of their mascaras are amazing!"

Truth.

The savey mascara that lives in her makeup bag? None other than the viral Maybelline Sky High Mascara.

Yep, the one you've seen doing the rounds on TikTok!

"It's one of my faves. The only downfall is that it's really hard to get off - even with makeup remover!"

In terms of other makeup kicking around her beauty bag, Sophie said she's actually been working on her own makeup line Zero for a while now. (We told you she was busy!)

"There was obviously complications with COVID - we had this whole line ready to launch but we just launched three lipsticks last year and they are my favourite. I wanted to create a lipstick that I couldn't find - because whatever goes on your lips goes in your mouth."

"So, I wanted it to be as natural as possible. It's made with all these natural oils but again, it's creamy. It has ingredients like shea butter and avocado oil, so it's super hydrating. I hate lipsticks that go dry and crusty!"

Same girl. Same.

If you follow Sophie on social media, chances are you've noticed she's the ultimate hair chameleon. But for now, she said she's loving going back to her natural colour.

"I did completely go blonde and then red and play around with it. I'm happy to be back to brunette," she shares.

No matter what colour her hair is, there's one thing for sure - it always look SO GOOD. And healthy. And shiny.

So, what exactly is her secret? And can she please share it with us, immediately?

"I must say that I have always had good hair," she shares.

Damn!

My hair holds curls really well - they don't ever fall out. It actually struggles to stay straight, though!"

"I just use a bit of sea salt spray. I've got lots of natural volume in my hair, so I can just add a bit of that. I won't lie though - I've had to put a few extensions in just to fill out the volume because I did have a bit of breakage with the peroxide."

"I don't style my hair to perfection. So, if it looks a bit curly - like I've literally put four curls in it - I'll just shake it up."

Okay, but we love effortless!

When it comes to body care products, the author and social media star said, "There was a stage in my life where I would have a weekly spray tan."

These days, however, her routine is a little more low-key, with Sophie sharing, "I used to wear a lot of tan, but I'm not at that point now."

When she does wear tan, she said there's one particular product she always has on hand.

"There's a brand called Tan Off The Original Tanning Mit and it's an exfoliating mask and it is the best thing not only at getting tan off, but I feel like if I want to shave my legs, I give them a really good exfoliation first and then I shave them and they're so smooth!"

Sophie Cachia's go-to fragrance.

"I really like talking about this, because with fragrances, I like to match my persona," shares Sophie. "I have two go-tos and they are my staples depending on my mood - what I'm wearing, the effect I want to have on the room."

"I call this one my powerful perfume. It's an expensive one - a stupidly expensive one - but it's actually a men's fragrance from Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde. It's $480 - but I will say, you get what you pay for. I truly think with that fragrance you do."

"It's a really masculine, powerful scent. It's my go-to if I want to go out there and just bring it - if I'm presenting on stage, if I'm in suit pants, if I'm going into a room for a really big business meeting."

"Then, on the opposite side of the scale, I have what I call my pretty feminine one. It's actually called Florence - I bought it because that's my daughter's name. I was in Mecca one time and I saw this perfume on the shelf, and I was like - I'm just gonna buy it."

Can't. Cope. With. The. Cuteness.

"So, they're my two that I rotate between."

Sophie Cachia's favourite savey and spendy.

Are we excited? Intrigued?

"I do a lot of shopping at airports, which is silly, because I'm filling in time. I was at Brisbane airport and I bought Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream - it's over $100 for a little tub, but you need the tiniest bit of it."

"That product is something I'll use on a day that I don't really feel like wearing makeup, but I just want to feel a bit nice, glowy, and, well, healthy."

"For my affordable beauty buy, it's absolutely Maybelline Sky High Mascara. It's $12. I'll have one in the car, in my bag - and if I lose it, it doesn't matter."

If you haven't tried it yet - this is your sign to give it a whirl!
