It was advertised as the one “unforgivable” word that was set to change My Kitchen Rules.
But after Sunday night’s episode of the reality show aired, fans of the show were left feeling “disgusted”.
While visiting Pat and Bianca’s instant restaurant on the show, a few of the women struck up a problematic conversation about their first impressions of one of their fellow contestants, Karolina.
“I was a bit blown away, I was a bit scared,” Veronica told Karolina.
“You’re a very tall woman, you’re extraordinarily tall,” she added.
“It’s true,” Lyn chimed in.
“I thought you were trans.”
Lyn: “I put my foot right in my mouth. I knew I’d upset her.” ????#MKR | https://t.co/DIdria31ne pic.twitter.com/3ETpCHgOBl

IF the comment at the end of this article is true, and it was staged just to make an earlier remark publicly known ... shame on everyone. I am a HUGE MKR fan but find this totally inappropriate and irrelevant.
So she gets incredibly offended being asked if she's a transvestite? Why? The are a lot of very beautiful transvestites. And apparently she was so offended that she wanted the comment made a second time on camera, just so the rest of Australia could hear it too? 15 minutes of fame anyone?
WHO CARES if someone thought she was a transvestite. Prior to getting married, I was asked many times if I was a lesbian. Why? Because I hadn't been in a serious relationship for a few years. Yup. Logical connection ... not.
I found the ludicrousy of it so funny that I shared said comments with friends of mine who were ... wait for it ... lesbian (can you imagine the scandal if others knew I had lesbian friends??? LOL) And their response, 'nah, we wouldn't have you'.
Were any of us offended by the above comments? Nup. We had a bloody good laugh. Have a cup of cement and toughen the f*ck up darl. Learning to laugh at yourself makes this thing called life a whole lot easier.
Was there any cooking?
I'm surprised the food gets ANY airtime with all the other crap going on 😆
Only guests trying to burn each other at a dinner table - not sure if that counts though
It used to be about the food, but I guess if you want real cooking you check out the food channel
I dont understand why it’s transphobic? I think it’s extremely insensitive of Lyn to say on TV and in front of everyone in the room but she wasn’t necessarily saying it was a bad thing to be trans. I definitely think this should not have been aired it would have been very embarrassing to be called out like that true or not and this has nothing to do with the point of the show.
