A woman's outfit got her booted from a shopping centre and it makes exactly zero sense.

On a hot summer’s day topping a sizzling 32 degrees, a woman decided to throw on a pair of denim shorts, singlet top and ballet flats before heading down to her local shopping centre with her sister to escape the heat.

Wondering why this is news? Us too… Until the woman in question, Hannah, took to Facebook to explain how she was kicked out of said shopping centre for her ‘inappropriate attire’.

No, you’re not looking at the wrong image. We haven’t accidentally embedded an image of a regular woman wearing completely ordinary shorts and a top printed with Finding Nemo‘s Dory.

She is indeed a regular woman wearing an entirely weather appropriate outfit.

“It is NINETY degrees (Fahrenheit) outside today in West Michigan. Aka, really hot,” Hannah’s post began. “So, of course, I decided to dress for the weather: shorts and a tank top.”

“But apparently, how I was dressed (see photo below) was too slutty for the public, as I was kicked out of the Woodland Mall today.”

Hannah, who was allegedly ‘reported’ by a fellow shopper, described the incident as “so embarrassing [she] could almost cry”.

“The Woodland Mall should be ashamed of themselves, as well as that anonymous complainer. It’s my body, and it’s hot outside! I’m not going to show up in jeans and a sweater.

“Don’t like it? Look away! Slut-shaming how girls are dressed is deplorable and outdated, and it needs to stop.”

The post, which at the time of writing has been liked 11,000 and shared 7,800 times, has been met with overwhelming support and calls to boycott the shopping centre.

The Woodland Mall has issued a statement – obtained by Fox News –  apologising to Hannah.

“We have apologised to Hannah and we apologise to our community… We’re going to make sure that everyone on our team is aware of how to handle situations like this in the future. We dropped the ball on this one.”
