Melania Trump is missing. These are the compelling theories about where she is.

It’s the question on everyone’s lips: “Where is Melania Trump?”

For over three weeks, first lady Melania Trump hasn’t been seen publicly.

As President Trump attends Camp David for a presidential retreat this weekend, the first lady won’t join him – marking her 22nd day of absence.

On May 14, the White House announced that 48-year-old Melania had undergone an “embolisation procedure to treat a benign kidney condition” – a procedure which involves cutting off blood supply to a tumor or growth.

But although the procedure was described as “successful” with “no complications”, Melania remained in the hospital for almost a whole week – despite being expected to only stay in the hospital for two to three days.

Melania was last seen four days prior to the procedure when she joined President Trump in welcoming home three men who had been held captive in North Korea.

Melania’s hospital stay has sparked questions, speculation and conspiracy theories about her health and even her marriage.

As first ladies are under no obligation to make their medical histories public, there was no indication – prior to her surgery – that Melania was unwell.

But as her hospital stay was longer than the average stay for an embolisation, many believed that her health condition may be more complicated than the White House stated.

Questions intensified when Donald Trump was asked about his wife’s wellbeing last week.

Pointing to a window, Trump told reporters: “She’s doing great. Right there. She’s doing great. Just looking at us, right there.”

Melania could not be seen at the window.

Melania’s disappearance has also raised eyebrows about her marriage to Trump.

In a tweet welcoming his wife home from the hospital, the president misspelled Melania’s name writing: “Great to have our incredible First Lady back home in the White House. Melanie is feeling and doing really well. Thank you for all of your prayers and best wishes!”

According to The Metro, the first lady’s absence has launched wild internet rumours and conspiracy theories, with some speculating that Melania has moved back to New York and others suggesting Melania was assaulted by her husband.

Others have suggested that Mrs Trump is recovering from cosmetic surgery, rather than the procedure the White House reported.

And the most bizarre rumour of all?

Melania was sneaked out of the White House through a tunnel and is now living with Barack and Michelle Obama to write a tell-all book about her life with President Trump.

Right…

Melania herself addressed the speculation herself on Twitter earlier this week, writing:

But until Melania appears publicly, there’s no denying that the theories will carry on growing.
