"No way am I going to fake that." Lisa Leaño on filming the Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle.

Dating is one of the hardest things you'll ever do - just ask Lisa Leaño from the Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle.

You might think it would be easier than ever to find a partner at this point in time, thanks to the many dating apps available, but the reality is people can easily exhibit bad habits, poor etiquette and bad behaviour when trying to find love online.

With Love Triangle, a new Stan series from the producers of Married at First Sight, the ability to see someone and make prior judgements about their looks and personality is taken away - making for a very interesting dating experience.

The rules of Love Triangle are simple: those in the experiment are only allowed to text or call their potential matches.

They, along with the audience, don't know what their love interests look like until they make a choice on who they are going to take on their first blind date.

Lisa, who had been single for 10 years after getting out of her last serious relationship at 23 years old, was clear from the get-go about what she wanted from the show.

And that was a partner who was also set on a lasting future with children and marriage.

When viewers met Lisa for the first time, there was little to no doubt she'd be one of the standout characters of the season.

Hilarious, funny, and blisteringly honest, the L ove Triangle star told Mamamia she wanted a partner with not only great communication skills, but a strong sex drive as well.

Surprisingly, the concept of Love Triangle itself wasn't necessarily something that appealed to Lisa right away.

After all, she didn't even like to text potential partners.

"I hate small talk and I hate getting to know someone over messages," she told Mamamia. "I like to meet people in person because it removes barriers. Being in this experience and having to try to build a connection off of that was challenging - especially since I didn't know you could get to know them through calls until much later in!"

While the experiment fascinated her right from the jump, it admittedly created an all-new challenge with her chosen love match, Patrick.

"You can't like everyone and anyone can construct a particular message, but when you speak in person, you can vibe on a different level," she explained. "When I was texting him, I was vibing with him and when I did finally speak to him on the phone, I did think there was a connection there."

However, Lisa's first date with Pat was not at all what she envisioned - from the way he looked right down to his personal beliefs.

"When I spoke to him on the phone, he had such an articulate, true blue Aussie voice and I was just sort of blown away by what I had been envisioning," she explained. "It was so interesting but I did say I thought Pat was going to be tall, dark, handsome and someone who looks physically fit, which he was."

From the moment we met Lisa, there was no doubt she was a character audinces would gravitate to.

She hates the online dating scene despite having the apps. She is honest about her sexuality and personal beliefs - and does not care at all what people think of her.

"People think they have to have a perfect persona, but when you're presented on a TV show, you have to not be so worried about that or it's not going to come off as genuine," she told Mamamia. "If you try to make yourself a 'character', then it's not actually you as a person. So I chose to be vulnerable and wear my heart on my sleeve.

"I'm authentic, I'm passionate about what I want and I stand for who I am as a person. No way am I going to fake that."

While past reality shows have gotten flack for "editing" or "manipulating" their stars, Lisa isn't worried that will happen with Love Triangle.

"They can edit that however they want to, but at the end of the day, I know who I am as a person and so do the people that I'm surrounded by."
