"It was Harvey pleasuring himself": The Lily Allen story that stunned Andrew Denton.

When the stories of Harvey Weinstein‘s sexual abuse allegations surfaced in October 2017, a cruel reality descended upon us: Almost every woman has a story, we realised, and almost every woman in the entertainment industry has a story about Weinstein.

Tonight, on Andrew Denton’s Interview, Lily Allen will share her disturbing encounter with the man recently charged with two counts of rape, and one count of a criminal sexual act.

Speaking to the seasoned television host, Allen said she had known Weinstein almost all her life, because her mother, Alison Owen, is a successful film producer. According to News Corp, Allen said she didn’t suspect Weinstein before the allegations were made public, but her mum had told her one disturbing story about him.

“My mum’s worked quite closely with Harvey, she’s done several films with him, and once they were looking at working with a particular director, Jane Campion,” she said. “She’d just done a film with Meg Ryan called In the Cut, and it was the first time Meg had ever done nudity.

“It was just my mum and Harvey in a screening room, and just when Meg Ryan was getting her clothes off she heard this grunting noise from behind her. It was Harvey pleasuring himself, in a dark room, with my mum sitting in front of him.

"She kept working with him. I guess that goes to show how powerful he was, that she didn’t feel like she could say anything."

In response to the allegations, a spokesperson for Weinstein told Metro UK: “Mr. Weinstein considers Alison Owen a great producer with whom he has only had a terrific working relationship. To Ms. Allen’s story, facts must matter when it comes to allegations as serious as these, and when a story contains a blaring falsehood, the entire account must be questioned. Here, it is both untrue and defamatory.  In fact, Ms. Owen was 42 years old when In the Cut was being made, not in her early twenties as Ms. Allen declared in the very same moment she also conveyed that outrageous fiction about Weinstein."

It's not the first time Harvey Weinstein has been accused of masturbating in front of a non-consenting woman.

In October 2017, actor Lauren Sivan told Huffington Post about the night she found herself trapped in a restaurant hallway by the producer. According to Sivan, Weinstein tried to kiss her, and when she refused, he said, "Well, can you just stand there and shut up." He then exposed himself to her and proceeded to masturbate and ejaculate into a pot plant.

Sivan said she was shocked and didn't know what to do or say.

Lily Allen's career in the entertainment industry has also led to a terrifying ordeal with stalking, which the 33-year-old discussed in the Channel 7 interview. In the preview for Tuesday's episode, she tells Denton, "He finally got into my house and wanted to kill me."

The episode, which also features a moving interview with domestic violence campaigner Rosie Batty, has been described as "confrontingly honest".

You can watch Interview tonight at 8.45pm, on Channel 7.
