'I’m not doing that anymore.' Kaley Cuoco’s candid sex scene confession.

Actor Kaley Cuoco has just gotten real about doing her own sex scenes in TV shows and movies. 

Because, in fact, she doesn't do them at all.

Cuoco made her acting debut in the 90s and since then, she's gone on to have major roles in some of the biggest sitcoms of our time; from Charmed to The Big Bang Theory and recentlyThe Flight Attendant.

Now Cuoco, who has solidified herself as a successful star, can make greater demands before accepting major projects. 

In a conversation with USA Today, the actor revealed she used a body double when filming the sex scenes for her new series, Based on a True Story. 

"I don’t roll that way. I need someone else to do that stuff," she explained, adding that she doesn't feel comfortable being naked in front of the camera anymore. "I’m past that. I’m not doing that anymore. Also, who wants to see that? Not my thing."

Cuoco says that thanks to special effects, specific editing techniques and what she likes to call "movie magic", there's no real need for her to film those scenes anymore.

"I’d rather let someone else do it, and that’s what movie magic (is for). We don’t have to do those things anymore. We can have someone else do it," she said. 

"You think that Chris Messina played tennis? Please! He was terrible! That’s his double."

Cuoco was also pregnant whilst filming, which meant she had to rely on her body double even more – especially when there were fight scenes to be filmed. 

"I had to be on my feet a lot. It was a lot," the actor recalled. "And by the end, I was nine months pregnant. So the fight scene at the end near the grave – the fantasy –  a lot of that was done by my double because it was like I was literally about to give birth, like any second."

In March 2023, she did give birth to her first daughter, Matilda.

The actor shared that the pregnancy was a new experience she embraced while filming for Based on a True Story.

"You’ve seen every part of my life – good and bad – in front of everyone. And so it was kind of cool to show this too,” she said. 

"Why not? Why not just own it and wear short shirts and let my stomach hang out? I did the swimsuit scene, … And I’m very proud of it, and I hope it inspires other women to be like, 'It’s fine. We can still do it all.'"

Cuoco shares her almost three-month-old daughter with actor Tom Pelphrey. The pair have been together since 2022 after having met in April of that year. 

"We have the same manager [Andrea Pett-Joseph], and we were set up by [her], which is so Hollywood," she told USA Today. "She's like, 'Oh my God, I think you guys are perfect for each other.'"

The pair met at the Ozark premiere in April and sparks flew instantly.

"I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting. It hit me. It was love at first sight," she recalled. "We were immediately connected. I felt like I'd known him my whole life."

"We're ready to build a life together," she added.

Cuoco later told Extra it was "absolutely love at first sight."

"It was like the angels started singing. I was like, 'Hallelujah!' It was very magical … it was perfect," she said. 

Pelphrey told People after the birth of their daughter that life as a parent had been "heaven".

"It's amazing. It's heaven," the actor said. "It's the most beautiful thing ever."

He went on to say having Cuoco has made him incredibly "grateful". 

"I'm so grateful to have a partner who I love to do it with because just two days with a baby in the house and I think of parents who are raising kids by themselves, and I don't even understand how they do it," he said. 

"My respect for single parents has gone through the roof."
