It would be immensely gratifying to see Aunt Lydia sacrifice herself for the good of the Handmaidens in some way. Or for Nicole or Hannah.
Can anyone explain to me what happened with Nick last night? I wasn't clear on the ending.
well he is obv a far bit more than just a driver. until we find out more i would guess he is high up in gileads forces and as such is why they couldnt trust anything he said in the meeting
He hasn’t been a driver for a while, he was made a Commander and he’s being sent to Chicago to assist with the war there. And he’s always been an eye, which is basically like being a KGB officer, who was put in Fred and Serena’s house to keep an eye on them. I don’t think he’s that high up (doesn’t sound like he chose to go to the fighting) but he has been with Gilead’s government since before they seized power and I’d say they probably owe him a few favours. Or they’re sending him to the front to dispose of him because he knows too much.
considering all those salutes i would say he is pretty high up there
Half of these are nonsensical. Nick being a CIA agent? We already had his backstory last season as one of the original men who stormed congress. And of course Commander Lawrence is a dissenter, we literally already know that- he saved Emily and Nichole, he saved the 5 Marthas.
I do think that video of the handmaidens and the influence of the Swiss negotiators is about to start a war, but it’s accidental on Fred’s part. And I think Nick told them plenty and he’s about to carry out some sort of military strike that will enable the UN to invade. He’s about to die on the front anyway, he has nothing to lose. And Serena isn’t going to come good, she’s just going to use the phone to abandon Gilead and go to Canada where Nichole is.
