Just when we thought Elvis fever had reached, well, fever pitch, Sofia Coppola has released the trailer for her upcoming biopic, Priscilla. Yep, we haven’t heard the last of the King of Rock and his ex-wife, even after Baz Luhrmann’s heavily-peddled film Elvis in 2022.
Based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir, Elvis and Me, Coppola's film focuses' on the ‘Suspicious Minds’ singer’s much-younger other half. According to its synopsis, Priscilla “tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage.”
That courtship began when he was 24 and she was just 14, before he headed off to serve in the military for two years while stationed in Germany.

By the time she’d turned 21 in 1967, they were married, and two years later they welcomed their one and only child together, the late Lisa Marie. By 1973 the marriage was over. Four years after that, Elvis was dead.
“The hardest part of writing the script was just editing down so many incredible details from Priscilla's memoir,” Coppola told Vogue.
