Is anyone else… confused?

Last night’s Married At First Sight dinner party has left us so baffled we feel like that woman in the math lady meme.

We never expected a reality TV show about strangers marrying strangers in the name of Instagram fame, a Logies invite and... love, possibly, could make us feel like this.

To recap, although we don't imagine it will help you understand what went down any better:

It began when Michael decided to ask Aleks if she's really slept with Ivan, after she decided she just wasn't really into him.

Aleks really didn't like the sex quiz, which, fair, and a heated confrontation quickly ensued, with all contestants questioning whether the couple had been intimate or not.

Because apparently, if they have all decided to share the details of their sex lives with each other, the experts and us, the people, then Aleks and Ivan should too, no matter how uncomfortable that made them. Ah, yes, this sounds like a really safe, non-toxic environment. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meanwhile, Ivan was suspiciously quiet. And Michael must have spent too much time with expert Trish because he wasn’t going to stop asking until he got all the answers about Ivan and Aleks' intimacy.

Then he dropped another bombshell.

Apparently, Aleks told him that she went on a date with another guy, even though she denied it.

The plot thickened again when we found out that Ivan apparently asked Michael and Josh to bring all this up during the dinner party.

It's all very... bizarre. And we just don't understand. So, we've done a bit of digging, because the people must know the truth of what happened on this highly edited, highly unsuccessful quest for true love.

Did Aleks cheat?

The dinner party took a WILD turn when Michael accused Aleks of cheating after attending a Serbian event with Mishel.

Michael said he ran into Aleks in the lobby of their apartment building after a date she'd had with a "super hot" 50-year-old man called Ben? Who drives a Ferrari?

The experts said this was making a fool of Ivan, the group, and "the experiment". I mean this experiment is already foolish as hell, but okay.

ANYWAY.

After Michael told literally everyone he could about Aleks' date, Aleks said it wasn't a romantic date but Michael claimed that was "not what you told me when you came back to the lobby".

Later, Mishel told news.com.au's Not Here To Make Friends podcast that Michael was telling the truth.

"Michael likes to stir the pot, but he usually stirs the pot honestly," she said.

"So he's heard something, he’s just relaying it to the rest of the group."

She said Michael and Josh were also telling the truth about Ivan and Aleks being intimate.

"The boys are actually very close, they’re always sharing information and whether Ivan was to admit it or not, he did disclose that information with Josh and Michael."

Aleks maintained it was not a date, and she was hanging out with the man and another woman.

"At the end of the day, I know who I am, I know how I’ve been raised and I know my moral compass and worth and that is enough for me. Unfortunately, this experiment did not prepare me for rumours to be made and stories to be spun."

Ivan also defended her on the gram, writing "life isn't always as it seems".

"Not a lot of truth to the accusations you saw play out this evening and Aleks has treated me a lot better than what you have seen play out. Please be mindful of this when casting judgement."

Did Ivan set the confrontation up?

If there was one thing last night's dinner party didn't need it was another bombshell, but we got it when Michael and Josh revealed Ivan asked them to bring up the intimacy stuff.

According to Josh, "Ivan rang us saying, 'this chick has done a 180, she has friendzoned me, this is bullsh*t. She is saying there is no passion but in reality there has been passion. We have been rooting like rabbits for weeks. If I bring it up, will you have my back?'"

"I feel like I have been used," Josh said.

So... is that legit?

Mishel says... yes: "I feel bad for Josh and Michael tonight, they were stitched up. Ivan asked them to ask about that. It was 100 per cent, he asked them to," she said.

What's this about a video..?

Just when we thought this couldn't get more weird, Mishel said there was a "provocative" video of Aleks.

"All I know, and I heard it through Josh, and Josh and Stacey and I are close, that Ivan did show the video to other people, a video of Aleks being provocative. I think that’s not cool to show that to them... But that's hearsay, so I’m not sure if that’s true, but I actually believe Stacey and I believe Josh."

WTF.

Do Ivan and Aleks get back together?

Sunday night's commitment ceremony is going to be very interesting, but we have a few... spoilers.

While it looks like Ivan and Aleks called time on their relationship last night, old deleted images from Aleks and Ivan's Instagram accounts show that things may not end how we expect.

The Daily Mail has unearthed photos (you can see them here) posted after last night's events were filmed in November.

According to the publication, Ivan flew to Perth to see Aleks and without the pressure of cameras and producers around, they reconciled and even celebrated New Year's Eve together while staying at the Crown Perth hotel.

All the photos were deleted before the show began airing in early February to avoid potential spoilers. That worked... well.

But... it doesn't look like they have lasted.

Fans discovered evidence that Ivan and Aleks may not be together anymore. Blame Instagram...

Commenting on a paparazzi photo which was shared by meme account, MAFS Funny, Aleks labelled her fake husband a "f*ck boy".

In the photo, fellow couple Stacey and Michael were seen on a date with Aleks and Ivan.

"I just vomited," Stacey commented.

"I'm feeling ill as well! What were we thinking?" Aleks added.

"As if we were seen with that. Hahaha f*ck sake. I blame lack of sleep," Stacey replied.

"We must have been losing our minds! Or maybe just falling for the f*ck boy lies and manipulation," Aleks responded.

Aleks and Ivan have also unfollowed each other on Instagram - the 2020 equivalent of throwing your ex's stuff out the window.

Just, what the heck?

Yeah, look, we still don't know either.

Maybe Sunday's commitment ceremony can shed some light on what is going on, but we wouldn't count on it.
