Emma and Lachlan Wiggle share "the hardest part of married life".

The yellow and purple Wiggles have revealed why their marriage works so well.

In a revealing interview with Stellar, the couple admitted they’ve hardly spent a day apart since donning their yellow and purple skivvies for The Wiggles five years ago.

Emma Watkins, 27, and Lachlan Gillespie, 31, began dating in secret for two years and only ‘came out’ about their relationship in 2015, shortly before Gillespie proposed.

“We get to be with each other every single day of the year, except for Christmas Day, which I spend in Sydney and Lachy spends in Brisbane with his family.

Some people wonder if we like working together and being together, but we’re not really great apart. We feed off each other a lot and the great thing is that we both know what we’ve been through and what our work is like. It makes it a lot easier,” Watkins told Stellar.

But working together and living together means the couple don't get to spend much time on their own.

“The hardest part of married life is getting the time for ourselves,” Gillespie told the magazine.

The loved up pair do plan to have children, but further down the line.

“A lot of people had assumed that we were going to have a baby [straight away],” says Emma. “I think people are too excited, and that’s just a natural progression [after getting married].”

As Mamamia previously reported, over 200 of their family and friends attended the Wiggle wedding last year. And there was not a dry eye in the house.

"I thought I was going to be really good and I thought i'll be the one to hold Lachy up," Watkins told Who magazine. "But as soon as I saw him, he was so obviously crying from happiness, that's when I think I lost it."

Gillespie admitted that seeing his bride was the most magical moment of his life. "Everything else just seemed to melt away," he said. "I was almost getting to the point where I was sobbing, I looked over at my aunty, and she was telling me to take a massive breath!"

We can't wait to see what's next for our wiggly friends.
