With Sam Dastyari in strife over suspicious handouts from Chinese officials, it’s no surprise ABC’s 7.30 is keen to have the NSW Senator on their program.
But when the Labor parliamentarian consistently refused the network’s invitations to be interviewed by Leigh Sales, she epically took things into her own hands.
Yep, Dastyari was understandably shocked to see a casually-dressed, sunnies-still-on-her-head Leigh Sales rock up to his press conference.
And her resulting takedown was nothing short of delightful.
When a muddled and overly contrite Dastyari shot to the media for questions, he said to the anchor nervously: "Thank you so much. Thanks for coming, what a thrill to have you at one of my press conferences."
Sales, however, was keen to get down to business and offered a quick "thrilled to be out of the office" before launching into a round of quick-fire questions.
And it. Was. Glorious.
