Magazine retracts quotes Kendall Jenner made about Bruce Jenner's 'transition'.

So what did Kendall Jenner say?

US Weekly have issued a retraction after Kendall Jenner denied ever speaking to them about her dad’s transition.

The magazine has issued an apology, however, they did not say the quotes were fabricated. The retraction directs attention away from the magazine and onto a freelance reporter who says he spoke to. The reporter “stands by” the quotes.

On Wednesday, March 18, Us Weekly published on UsMagazine.com an interview with model and reality star Kendall Jenner entitled “Kendall Jenner Breaks Silence on Bruce Jenner’s Transition: ‘I Will Always Love My Dad.'” The interview was allegedly conducted by an independent freelance journalist at the Saturday, March 14, taping of Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber in Los Angeles. When Ms. Jenner denied, via Twitter, that the interview took place, Us Weekly immediately reached out to the freelance reporter. He stood by the interview, and continues to maintain that the quotes are accurate. However, after attempting to reconfirm his account, editors of

Us have concerns about the veracity of this interview and the circumstances under which it was obtained. We would like to retract the story entirely and have removed it from our website. We sincerely apologize to Ms. Jenner and her family.

Mamamia previously reported…

Kendall Jenner may or may not have just ruined a multi-million dollar magazine cover deal and/or TV exclusive by basically confirming Bruce Jenner’s gender transition to a tabloid. Awkward.

In an interview with US Weekly, the 19-year-old model/reality TV personality was asked about her dad’s transition process, and she absolutely confirmed the rumours.

“I will always love my dad, whether he’s a man or a woman,” she said.

“I love my dad. He’s always been there for me and my sisters. He’s a wonderful man. And just because he’s changing shoes now, so to speak, doesn’t make him less wonderful.”

Related: Finally, a magazine cover of Bruce Jenner that isn’t demeaning.

Kendall confirmed what all the other Kardashians have danced around for months. But now, conveniently after the story has blown up around the world, Kendall’s decided to deny she ever said that.

Now, look. MAYBE Kendall didn’t speak to them. MAYBE they did make it up. But what seems more likely is that Kendall did speak to them, and just got in serious trouble from her mum, Kris Jenner, because she totally did not follow instructions of always speaking elusively to the media and never confirming anything.

The family have, until now, always said it’s up to Bruce to tell people his news when he’s ready.
