Mamamia welcomes new political columnists.

Forget the blue ties. The Mamamia Women’s Network is thrilled to have the most powerful woman in the Federal Government and the most powerful woman in the Federal Opposition joining us as columnists in 2015.

Starting in March, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party and Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop and Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister Tanya Plibersek will each be contributing a fortnightly column to Mamamia.com.au and soon-to-be-launched DebriefDaily.com

Editor-in-Chief Jamila Rizvi said she was excited to welcome such high profile and formidable contributors to the Mamamia Women’s Network.

“Mamamia has always been committed to involving Australian women in the national political conversation. And having the two major parties’ most influential women as regular columnists in 2015 is a key part of that.”

“I’m proud that the Mamamia Network provides a platform for women to engage with policy issues and have their voices heard”.

“Too often in the political arena, the views of women are shut out or dismissed and we’re passionate about working with our four million monthly readers to change that.”

“Both Minister Bishop and Ms Plibersek are hugely admired amongst our audience and I’m delighted that they’ll be speaking directly with our switched on and engaged audience,” Ms Rizvi said.

Minister Bishop and Ms Plibersek will contribute regular columns about politics, policy and matters they are personally passionate about.

The Mamamia Women’s Network is made up of four websites, Mamamia.com.au, iVillage.com.au, TheGlow.com.au and soon-to-be-launched DebriefDaily.com

The network currently reaches 4 million unique browsers each month and has a social media following in excess of 1.4 million people.
