Gwyneth Paltrow has won her ski crash trial. Here are the nine weirdest moments from it.

In case you missed it, Gwyneth Paltrow has been at the centre of an eight-day civil trial over a ski crash that happened back in 2016; and the internet has had a field day.

For context, retired optometrist Terry Sanderson is seeking $300,000 USD from Paltrow to cover the alleged damages from a ski collision that occurred in Utah.

Sanderson, 76, is claiming the actor, 50, slammed into the back of him while skiing, leaving him with a concussion, brain injury, four broken ribs, and the inability to enjoy wine tastings (yes, that was mentioned).

However, Paltrow is saying it was Sanderson's fault, and is counter-suing him for one dollar, plus legal fees.

On Thursday US time, the jury decided that Sanderson was, in fact, at fault, not Paltrow.

"I felt that acquiescing to a false claim comprised my integrity," the Goop founder said in a statement following the verdict.

"I am pleased with the outcome, and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case."

Besides the legalities, there have been some viral moments during this public trial – mostly involving Gwynny. Here are some of them.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow's courtroom dressing.

Starting off with the first thing everyone noticed: Paltrow's quiet luxury courtroom dressing.

While no big logos or obvious designer labels, the actor looks expensive, wearing cream cashmere and tailored coats. But no one's sure about her choice of glasses.

2. Paltrow denies fault, before sharing her thought process at the time.

Gwyneth Paltrow took the stand on March 24.

She denied fault (makes sense – she is suing the man) and explained that when the collision first happened, she wasn't sure what was going on.

"So that was a quick thought that went through my head when I was trying to reconcile what was happening," Paltrow said.

"Two skis came between my skis forcing my legs apart and then a body pressed against me. My brain was trying to make sense of what is happening."

She continued: "I thought, 'Is this a practical joke? Is someone doing something perverted?' My mind was going very, very quickly, and my mind was trying to ascertain what happened."

3. Paltrow's lawyer struggles to explain the accident.

Although Paltrow's lawyer, Stephen Owens, is presumably across the details of the collision, this video is making everyone giggle:

4. "I lost half a day skiing."

In another clip from the trial, Sanderson's lawyer, Kristin VanOrman, read a quote to Paltrow about how the collision with Sanderson "deterred" her from enjoying a "very expensive vacation".

"Well, I lost half a day of skiing," Paltrow replied.

5. Sanderson's lawyer is jealous of Paltrow's... height.

"May I ask how tall you are?" VanOrman asked Paltrow during questioning.

"I'm just under 5'10"," the actor said.

"Ok, I am so jealous," VanOrman replied.

"I think I'm shrinking, though," Paltrow continued.

"You and me both. I have to wear these 4" heels just to make it to 5'5"," VanOrman said.

"Well, they're very nice," Paltrow added.

The hashtag #Gwynnocent has started appearing all over social media. Sometimes posted by fans, but mostly, by people confused/amused by the whole trial.

7. Taylor Swift?

Paltrow is counter-suing Sanderson for $1 USD, the same amount Taylor Swift was awarded in a case against a DJ accused of sexually assaulting her.

Sanderson's lawyer asked whether Paltrow got the idea from the singer and whether they were "good friends".

"I think I said that I had not been familiar with [Swift’s trial] but I since am," Paltrow said.

"I would not say we are good friends, we are friendly; I’ve taken my kids to one of her concerts before but we don’t talk very often," she added.

8. Paltrow apologising for swearing.

Finally, Paltrow is told that when she and Sanderson collided, she yelled: "You skiied into my f**king back."

"I’m sorry for my bad language," the actor said on the stand.

9. What Paltrow's children said about the incident.

Both of the Goop founder's children were present at the time of the ski collision in 2016 and were expected to give their testimony during the trial.

Instead, a stand-in for Apple, 18, and Moses, 14, read their depositions to the jury.

"I did hear some commotion, but I was further down, so I decided to continue to go down to the lodge," Apple said at the time.

"She came in and I asked what had happened, and she said, 'This a-hole ran into me. He ran right into my back.'"

While on the stand, Paltrow had claimed she "lost half a day of skiing" due to the incident, which Apple agreed was what had happened.

"She decided after that she was not going to ski for the rest of the day, which she never does. She always stays on."

Meanwhile, the actor's youngest child, Moses, said he "briefly" witnessed the collision when skiing with his instructor and remembered his mother "yelling at the guy".

"She was saying something along the lines of, 'What the F-word? You just ran into me,'" he said.
