In July, photos of Cara Delevingne became a meme. Now friends are becoming increasingly concerned.

Cara Delevingne is making headlines as of late, with fans and friends concerned for her welfare amid a series of unusual moments and behaviour. But the worrying started a few months ago.

Back in May, Delevingne was in the news when she attended the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The supermodel-turned-actor was reportedly the plus one invite of American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. However, it didn't explain her strange behaviour towards Megan during the night.

Before the awards even started, Delevingne stole the show. While the supermodel didn't walk the red carpet, she was spotted making faces, talking and watching from a distance, as Megan Thee Stallion posed for photographs.

After a few minutes, Delevingne hopped onto the carpet, grabbing the train on the 27-year-old rapper's dress and throwing it up in the air, seemingly trying to make it float in photos. It was done numerous times, with Megan appearing to look confused.

Inside the show, Delevingne sat front and centre next to the rapper and made her presence known.

In a video recorded by a fan, Megan Thee Stallion is seen having a conversation with fellow female artist Doja Cat. The two - who were both up for big awards that night - were talking when Cara popped her head over and chimed in.

"Oh my god. Hi, Cara Delevingne," Doja Cat said, seemingly having no clue she was there prior to joining in on their conversation.

In the now-viral clip, both Megan and Doja seemed to laugh off the encounter.

Later in the night, as Megan won Female Rap Artist, fans' intrigue reached new heights after seeing Delevingne acting strange, again, in response to the win. She stuck her tongue out near Megan's face and once again, fiddled with the train of her dress, as she stood up to receive her award.

Then after the show, Megan shared various photos on her Instagram story to celebrate the night and her win. And one photo in particular had people talking. In a picture, which Megan reposted to her story from a fan account, she and Doja are smiling and posing together from their seats. Quickly fans noticed that Delevingne - who was sitting next to the rapper in the original photo - had been completely edited out of the shot.

Last month, Delevingne turned 30 and celebrated the occasion with friends in Ibiza, while also recently attending the Burning Man Festival in America and the Cannes Film Festival in France. Fans then soon spotted the model allegedly smoking from a pipe while in her car in Los Angeles.

In recent appearances on talk shows, such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Live With Kelly And Ryan, Delevingne acknowledged that her hands were trembling uncontrollably. The same allegedly occurred at this year's Met Gala.

This week, things came to a head when Delevingne didn't attend the event for her latest collaboration with late designer Karl Lagerfeld, titled Cara Loves Karl. She shared a clip of the campaign billboards featured in Times Square in New York City on her Instagram, and was set to attend the event but did not.

While at the airport in Los Angeles, Delevingne was set to take off in Jay Z's private jet, but was two hours late for the flight, with people watching her behave unusually. She made it onboard the jet, but it never took off, with her and her team leaving the tarmac soon after. It is unclear what occurred on the jet for the flight not to go ahead.

A 'close friend' told The Sun recently about Delevingne's wellbeing: "We are all incredibly concerned. The situation has been building for a few weeks now, and Cara's family is involved.

"There is talk of staging some kind of intervention and making sure Cara gets the help she may well need. She has been burning the candle at both ends of late, and it's clearly taking its toll."

By Tuesday, actor and friend to Delevingne, Margot Robbie, was seen leaving the model's house, visibly upset and wiping away tears.

Delevingne's mother Pandora, a former model herself and the daughter of a publishing magnate, told the Daily Mail in an interview that she has previously been "paranoid" about both her daughters, Poppy and Cara, and their lifestyles.

"I'm paranoid the girls might drink too much or take too many drugs - understandably, I think. I do talk to them about it. They say, 'I'm okay, Mum' or, 'I'm this or I'm that', but they're not addicts."

Pandora has been open about her struggles with alcohol and drugs, specifically heroin, saying just before her 18th birthday her drug usage worsened.

"I had to try and stop feeling this emptiness I felt inside - this hole. I couldn't fill the hole. I was always searching for something - a drink, a drug, whatever to take me out of myself into being this person who is confident and not nervous or anxious. I had one go [with heroin] and that was it. It was the drug for me. It gave me all the things I didn't have - self-confidence mainly."

Cara Delevingne herself has also been open about her experiences with mental health. When she was 15, she had a breakdown.

Reflecting on that period, which came with realising her sexual identity and sharing that information with her family, Delevingne said it took its toll.

"I do correlate the massive depression and the suicidal moments of my life [to that] because I was so ashamed of ever being that. I hated myself for being depressed, I hated feeling depressed, I hated feeling," she said to People.

"I was very good at disassociating from emotion completely."

As for all that has happened recently, Delevingne and her team are yet to release a statement or publicly comment on the matter.
