You see, the slightly disturbed people behind Netflix’s new post-apocalyptic meme-generating movie, Bird Box, have finally revealed what the monster looks like.

In case you missed it,Bird Boxstars Sandra Bullock as one of the survivors in a post-apocalyptic world, in which everyone wears blindfolds in order to avoid seeing some mysterious monster that makes them end their own lives.

What makesBird Boxeven more unsettling is the fact that we never actually see the monster.

In an interview with Bloody Disgusting , screenwriter Eric Heisserer explained they had originally filmed a scene showing the entity, but in the end chose to cut it out.

Just to add to the general creepiness, Bullock has also described the monster as a “long fat baby” and “a green man with a horrific baby face”.

Now, we finally know what it looks like and it is – quite possibly- the most unsettling long fat baby/green man we’ve ever laid eyes on.

Bird Box’s special effects makeup designer, Andy Bergholtz, shared some pictures of some versions of the monster on his Instagram (in a post which has since been deleted).

In his post, Bergholtz explained that the monster looks different for each specific character because it representstheirfears and regrets.

So given Bullock’s character’s emotional state over her pregnancy, her monster looks like a giant demonic baby. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Considering her pregnant state and emotional arc thru [sic] the movie, the producers felt Sandra’s nightmare would have something to do with a twisted, demonic baby creature attacking her,” he explained.

Well, we’re never leaving the house again.
