Your first look at Mowgli, the darkest version of The Jungle Book we've ever seen.

The trailer for Mowgli is here, giving us our first glimpse of Andy Serkis’ dark re-imagining of the classic children’s tale, and let’s just say it’s darker than any other version that has come before it.

Based on The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling’s classic 19th Century tale, the story follows a small boy who grows up in a wolf pack in the jungles of India.

Director Andy Serkis has implemented motion capture and live action for his 3D adaptation of Mowgli.

Serkis, best known for performance capture roles such as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and Caesar in the Planet of the Apes reboot series says his version of the classic story “is not a child’s fairy-tale”.

Andy Serkis explains how he went about bringing the story of Mowgli to life.
