A TIME image of a breastfeeding dad could be re-shaping the idea of the American family.
Writer Jessi Hempel wrote about her brother, Evan’s emotional journey into fatherhood for the magazine.
“My brother Evan was born female. He came out as transgender 16 years ago but never stopped wanting to have a baby. This spring he gave birth to his first child,” says Hempel.

The photo, which shows Evan Hempel chest-feeding in his Massachusetts home, has divided followers on Twitter.
“Pregnancies like Evan’s—and the many that are likely to follow—will stretch our cultural perceptions of gender norms even further,” says Jessi Hempel.
The powerful TIME image and emotive story, could be just the beginning.
Earlier this year Mamamia reported on the amazing story of breastfeeding dad Trevor MacDonald.

Growing up I was taught the "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" lesson. I guess I'm going to have to put this into action here....
......I didn't make express negative sentiments, that was the point. Calm yourself down.
How confusing will this be for the poor child.
Not to mention the possibility of strange hormones being passed through the milk.
