Stu Laundy has four kids. So how will he and Sophie Monk be spending their first Christmas?

We’ve all been there. Christmas is approaching, the family starts making plans, certain people start arguing about what to bring to so-and-so’s for the big feast, and your parents will not stop asking: “Will Stu be coming, too, dear?”

Well, not ‘Stu’ for all of us. But likely for Bachelorette Sophie Monk who is now dating the show’s winner Stu Laundy.

To discuss all things dating – as well as what the new couple is planning for Christmas – Sophie sat down with Mamamia Live yesterday.

“We’re both a bit the same, you know making plans at the 11th hour,” the 37-year-old former Bardot singer said, proving for the 1897653rd time she really is all of us.

How much is too much to spend on a staff Christmas present? Post continues…

She went onto say she and Stu are considering going skiing for Christmas. But she actually hates the snow. Because, of course.

“We were talking about going skiing but I hate the cold, to be honest,” she said. “I hate skiing – somebody said I’m a natural at it and I was like ‘I don’t care, I don’t like it’. I like going to my friend’s place and drink by the fire, it’s my favourite thing.”

And that’s when the discussion turned to the nitty-gritty. Namely the question: How long should a couple be dating before you’re required to invite them to Christmas festivities?

Sophie, as with all things she does, prefers to play it cool.

“I usually tell them ‘I might do this or I might do that’,” she said. “And then I say ‘what are you doing?’ to try and suss them out.”

“I’ll tell them ‘you can come if you want’ and play it cool.”

Oh, if only we could pull it off. Because, lets be honest, we’ve all tried.
