The UK will jail sex offenders for life and in Australia we bully the victims, let their perpetrators go free or face such small jail times. I wonder if we’ll ever see a punishment that matches the impact of sex crimes on women and children.

I live in NZ and the maternal mental health support here is amazing. I have no-polar disorder so was at high risk for pre and post natal depression. I was allocated a social worker for the first year of babies life. They check in regularly and organise support that’s needed whether it be a psychologist, psychiatrist, mothercraft nurse guidance and respite options. It is life changing.
