@pig in a blanket Colour Runs rule! Community building and FUN!
@qwerty That's one cool, resilient boy - how wonderful! Bravo! xx
@anon- I love the idea of a Girls' Fitness class! There are so many ways to be active and get/keep fit without being subjected to humiliation as a non-sporty kid. Bravo!
@cat Since writing this story, I was contacted by a friend whose PE teacher made all the kids who ran a 1km race "too slowly" run the race again, but the second time around had to pretend they were chickens or pigs as they ran. I was beggared with disbelief at the cruelty. Thirty years on, my friends still vividly recalls those feelings of humiliation.
@sarahnorris Exactly! This is not one of those things. Hope you got choc-tops to celebrate her emancipation! xx
@jenrobgra It really saddens me that the trauma of sporting competition has followed you so doggedly into adulthood. I have been quite alarmed at how this story has resonated with adults sharing similar tales. Blessings to you for your wellbeing xx
@kellyh2001 Blessings! I was so caught up trying to teach resilience and "having a go" that I wasn't recognising that it was time to say "Enough!"
