THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME WITH MY OWN COUSIN!!! I was extremely upset and still am. Out of all the rings in the world and she copied mine after I would talk to her and she knew how particular I was in designing my dream ring. I confronted her calmly saying congratulations but I was hurt and wish she had asked for permission and she went off on me. After waiting a few days for her to calm down I apologized for upsetting her but explained why it hurt my fiancé and I and she went off on me again claiming she didn’t copy it. Meanwhile this time she sent me a photo of her ring and two photos of mine. One photo I had never in my life seen of my own ring/hand. So she’s been stalking my ring and clearly had a knockoff of it made that nobody walking down the street would know the different. Mine too was custom ordered. Needless to say I’ve lost all respect for her,  locked all my Pinterest boards, and removed her from social media. Your feelings are valid no matter how you feel about it! If it makes you feel better this is what my mom told me “Awww. It's too bad all of this is happening. I don't know where she lives or who she hangs with but I doubt she is near you or your friends. There's nothing you can do now. What's done is done. Don't let it change your wedding band plans but don't show her what it will look like by any means. She may already know what you are wanting to do but don't say any more to her about it. Those rings won't be in the same place much. It's too bad this happened but one way you and “X” can look at it is that somebody liked your hard work in finding a special, unique and beautiful ring so much they were willing to sacrifice their dignity and friendship to get it. Cudos to you in your taste. Look at it as if you did such a great job it actually brought out the true light in somebody in your life. She wanted that ring so bad she didn't even want to ask if it was OK with you for fear of a no so she just went

ahead and did it. What a compliment. “
