Beautifully written Mia. Agree with everything you have said. The. Next conversation iis what happened to him to make him do this. He is/was a seriously damaged person.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to a 21st birthday party at Boggo Road in mid 1989. It was fascinating and definitely worth the tour and the history. We shouldn’t shy away from the stories and places that make us Queenslanders who we are. As an aside, my grandfather sold his dairy farm at Wacol to the Qld Government, which they turned into the current jail.
@flaka look at the statistics. That is all you need to know.
Here here. I supported the first referendum for Australia to have an Australian as it’s head of state and continue to do so. We will still be part of the Commonwealth and the Royals can still sell our magazines but we can also proclaim an Australian citizen as worthy of being our head of state under our Westminster system of government.
It is now February 2023. We are now much more informed about coercive control and psychological abuse. I was 33 when I met my ex husband. He was two year older than me with an ex wife, two young children and a 5 year old self-founded business. He imposed the exact same demands and expectations on me as the writer experience. Plus much more. I married for love, but I left after 19 1/2 years to save my life and my sanity for our two children. Don’t judge. The money is irrelevant.
Brilliant analysis Clare. Everything I have ever thought and struggled with about LA. And you didn’t even mention the porn couple. What the! But like you, still love it. What does that say about us?
I had a mini gastric bypass in 2018 for health reasons. It was one of the best things I have ever done. All of my health issues were resolved. I also thank the surgery for me finding a lump in my breast 9 months later. It was a Stage 2 Grade 3 IDC. I don’t believe I would have felt the lump if I still weighed the same as before the surgery.
