I am a cofounder of a support group* for teachers who are bully abused by principals and/or other executive. There is something seriously wrong with a system that enables known bully executives to transfer to a school & repeat their abuse with apparent impunity. One Sth Coast NSW school had 16 staff identify as bullied. 4 of them were suicidal & hospitalised. The principal was ‘investigated’ yet witnesses for the injured staff weren’t interviewed. The P remained and one of her bullying exec mob replaced her as P when she retired. The staff fled in any way they could if they could. The bully abuser P in my case had honed his bullying modis operandi after many years, and earned the nickname The Cleaner. The NSW Dept of Education knew of his abuse because as I did, at least one other teacher, 10 years prior to me received Work Cover compensation. After making a complaint I was disappeared from the school I’d taught at for 28 years and eventually medically retired. There’s a story in this Mamamia. Please contact me if interested. The media has often reported on bullying of teachers by students & parents but seems reluctant to report on this reason for teachers leaving the profession. Maybe Mamamia will be the one to tackle this head on? *the Australian Teachers Support Group
