I started teaching ethics when my son started Kindy to start the program at our school - he is now in Year 7. My youngest is in year 3 so he is participating throughout his primary years now. Being an ethics teacher you see the kids grow over the years that they participate - with thoughtful discussions, listening to each other and thinking from different angles with empathy. The kids enjoy being asked open ended questions knowing there is no right or wrong answer for 30 mins a week. As mentioned the lessons are scripted so you don't need to be a trained teacher. We sit in a circle and I read the different scenarios and stories to the kids then ask the questions. They come up with such interesting ideas every week.
