All the big wins and stunning upsets from the 2017 Academy Awards.

Following an awkward stuff-up that saw La La Land mistakenly awarded the biggest honour of the night, Moonlight has won the Oscar for Best Picture for 2017.

The Academy Awards started out with a Best Actor in a Supporting Role win for one of the film’s stars Mahershala Ali, who played a compassionate drug dealer. Moonlight also took out the gong for Best Adapted Screenplay.

La La Land’s Emma Stone picked up the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. The hit musical also took out the gongs for Best Director, Cinematography and Production Design.

Casey Affleck won the Oscar for Best Actor in Leading Role for his performance in Manchester by the Sea, and once again Brie Larson presented Affleck with his award.

As Mamamia previously reported, there was an awkward moment at the Golden Globes earlier this year when Larson presented Affleck with his Golden Globe for Best Actor.

Two female colleagues who worked with Affleck on a 2010 film he directed, I'm Still Here, have alleged Affleck verbally and sexually harassed them on various occasions. (Post continues after gallery.)

Larson is a advocate for sexual assault victims.

Manchester by the Sea also won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

While Viola Davis won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her powerful performance as a housewife married to an overbearing man in Fences.

In her emotionally powerful acceptance speech, Davis paid tribute to those who allowed her to "exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories".

"And I say, exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories. The stories of the people who dreamed big and never saw those dreams to fruition. People who fell in love and lost. I became an artist—and thank God I did—because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life," she said.

Zootopia won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, while 'City of Stars' from La La Land won the Best Original Song.
