Actress and mum-of-one Michelle Williams offered some priceless real talk earlier this week when she admitted that the love of her life was not, in fact, a man, but her long-time best friend, Busy Philipps.
Tackling the red carpet at a New York screening of Williams’ latest film,Manchester By The Sea,the 36-year-old shared the universal truth known to all women when she was asked by a reporter who she was attending the event with.

“I’m here with my best friend,” Williams said. “I’m so in love with her. She’s proof that the love of your life does not have to be a man! That’s the love of my life right there.”
Williams and 37-year-old Philipps met 15 years ago when they were both acting onDawson's Creek, something Philipps pointed out in a loved-up Instagram post following the red carpet appearance.

Sharing a "then and now" comparison photo of their friendship to Instagram on Monday, Philipps wrote, “2001/2016 I love that we almost always stand on the same side of each other. Also, can I just say: we aren’t at a costume party in 2001. That’s legit how we were dressed for a regular night out. And thank God my eyebrows grew back.”

Despite Philipps being married to screenwriter Mark Silverstein for nine years (AKA having a go-to appendage for all things red carpet related) the pair regularly act as plus one's to one another at events - proving the universal truth that nothing makes for a better night out than your best girlfriend and a catered event with a bar tab.
Ahh the sisterhood in action. It's a really, really beautiful thing.
