There are some very, very strong hints that Matty J will be our next Bachelor.

If you needed any further proof that 2017 is already looking way, WAY better than 2016, look no further than the fact Matty J is DEFINITELY (read: possibly) going to be our next Bachelor.

Despite the fact that hours after his breakup with Georgia Love — who chose Lee Elliott as her leading man in the dramatic Bachelorette finale — Matty said he “couldn’t think of anything worse” than being next year’s Bachie, he has very much changed his tune.

Now, an insider has told NW magazine Matty J has ‘no plans’ when his contract with the Sydney marketing firm he currently works for ends in January.

Coincidentally, the next season of The Bachelor starts filming in February. Perfect timing? We think YES.

The 29-year-old also recently revealed to The Saturday Telegraph that he was “honoured” fans wanted him back for a second chance at love.

“I haven’t been asked but the fact that people are even suggesting I could be a good fit for it, I am really honoured by that,” he said

“There’s definitely things that are appealing about the prospect of going on the show again.

“To have somebody else give you a selection of 15 to 20 really incredible girls, it is almost like someone else does the hard work for you to give you that shortlist.”

Despite his hints, Matty also speculated that being in the Bachelor’s position would be much, much harder.

“It is a lot easier being one of multiple people focusing on the one girl instead of being somebody who has to break multiple hearts,” he said.

"At some point you have to be the bad guy and people are going to disagree with your decisions."

Oh, Matty J — you could never be the bad guy in our eyes.
