The real reason Married at First Sight's Andrew and Anthony were so horrible on the show.

When Married At First Sight contestant Nick Furphy thought show “villains” Anthony Manton and Andrew Jones might not be coping with fan backlash, he found a way to help.

The Melbourne carpenter saw his fellow husbands had “copped a lot of flak” and thought they might like to chat with a man who has been in the same position – that is, the focus of fury from thousands of disgusted Australian viewers.

Nick told TheFIX he introduced Anthony and Andrew to none other than Jono Pitman – season two’s villain and a mate of his.

Listen to Clare Stephens and Kelly Glover recap the finale of Married at First Sight. Post continues…

“I introduced Jono to Anthony and Jonesy because they have been the villains in the show, and they’ve copped a lot of flak, offered Jono’s advice to them, and obviously, Jono’s a friend of mine,” Nick explained.

“He was married to a grenade [Clare Verrall]. And I think Jono got portrayed as a villain, but he’s actually a really decent bloke. In his position, he can probably give good advice.”

Yep, advice like how to avoid being eaten alive after you say “she’s not what I ordered” about your fake bride on her fake wedding day.

Jono and Clare had several heated arguments during their short, conflict-filled relationship, but that hasn’t put off Michelle Marsh – Nick’s wife Sharon’s twin sister.

The 30-year-old introduced Jono to the 31-year-old WA woman and the pair have since been spotted around Melbourne.

“I had Jono on the loud speaker when I was in the car with the twins one time,” Nick told TheFIX.

“The twins were over and we all went out, and it just took off from there.”
