Kim Kardashian's New Year's resolution is one we all try (and fail) to keep every single year.

Hello and welcome to January 1, 2018. The day when you start eating healthier, exercising more, and balancing work and play… or something.

It’s also the day when more than a few of us are waking up to pounding headaches from too much “fun”, or maybe just from staying up three hours past our normal bedtime to see the clock strike midnight.

So it’s only natural that we’ll utter the words, “New Year’s resolution starts tomorrow, I promise…”

Or the next day. Or the day after that. Until suddenly, it’s December 31 all over again and none of us have “spent more time with family” or “become more organised”.

LISTEN: Mia, Jessie and Rachel discuss Kim Kardashian’s claims she has body dysmorphia.

So when Kim Kardashian West revealed her own New Year’s resolution on her website, we realised it might just be the most relatable thing she’s ever said.

Why, you ask? Because it’s one we’ve all made and managed to fail at every. single. time.

Happy Holidays

“My New Year’s resolution is to be on my phone less and be more in the moment,” the 37-year-old shared with her fans.

This, from the “selfie queen” of social media who has more than 105 million Instagram followers, and whose app – Kim Kardashian: Hollywood – is rumoured to have made her more than $200 million in profit.

To be fair, Kim’s resolution shouldn’t come as a huge surprise – back in October, Kim declared that selfies were so “a few years ago”.

Plus, she’s about to welcome her third child via a surrogate, so perhaps she wants to bond with bubs away from the public eye for those first precious few months.

(Although, for someone who’s made a name for themselves broadcasting every moment of their lives on reality television, we find that hard to believe…)

But Kim’s “tech less” resolution is one we’ve probably all made at some stage, and one we’ve all failed to keep.

Kim also shared two other resolutions on her website: to “train really hard and be more consistent [with fitness]” and to learn to apply makeup even better, of course.

Same Kim, same.
