'No, because my life is travel, so
it just happened that way.
'It’s not like I set out to live like that, but now it would be a big thing to move in with somebody. I’m used to my own place, my own things. But
you know, if I met the right person, I’m sure I’d be like, "Move in
tomorrow, put your things everywhere". That would probably work for a
while and then I’d need a bit of balance!'

Ah, I love Helena *sigh*. I'd love to have a Mandy Sayer/Louis Nowra type arrangement, living in different apartments in the same street. I love my partner but I am crazy about having my own space. Maybe one day we'll win lotto ;-)
i moved in with my boyfriend 3 years ago - and i think its been great. it's let us have our own life outside of eachother.
let me explain - when i lived at my mum's and he lived at his parents', we would get home from work and talk to eachother on the phone for and hour or two (we lived a fair way apart from eachother). the weekends were spent catching up with eachother, almost excusively, as that was the only time we saw eachother.
when we moved in together, we saw eachother morning and night, regardless of what we'd done during the day. this freed up a lot of time to catch up with friends, parents, siblings and workmates.
i think it really strengthened our relationship. i really believe one of the keys to a good relationship is still having time and space to grow as your own person away from your partner, and surprisingly, moving in together allowed this!
i also think having some time home alone or out by yourself also helps if you're feeling a bit suffocated by living with another person!
