Did Tom Cruise turn Nicole Kidman's kids against her?

When Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise divorced after 11 years, their children Isabella and Connor were barely older than Suri is now — just 8 and 6 at the time. According to Vanity Fair's new investigative cover story, the Church of Scientology reportedly used the kids' ages to their advantage to turn the kids against their mother after their parents' split.

"The central problem [in the marriage] was Nicole did not want to deal with Scientology," former high-ranking Scientologist Marty Rathbun claims in the story.

After Kidman left both Cruise and the Church, she was labeled an "S.P." — Suppressive Person (a spiritually toxic person to be avoided at all costs). By Scientology standards, this is worse than being a nonbeliever, so members of the Church were directed to instill this idea to the kids, who were living in Cruise's primary care, sources claimed to Vanity Fair.

"They rejected Nicole — they've been instructed," says John Brousseau, another former Scientologist who was also the bodyguard and brother-in-law of Church leader David Miscavige.

Bella and Connor, who were both attended to and homeschooled by members of the Church on Cruise's staff, allegedly accompanied Cruise to his auditing sessions and were taught how to detect and avoid an S.P., the sources explained.

"They took a course, P.T.S./S.P., Potential Trouble Source/Suppressive Person, for persons connected in their lives who are an S.P.," Brousseau claims. "[Bella and Connor] whispered to me, 'J.B., Nicole is an S.P.! Our mom's an S.P. — we hate going and seeing her."

According to writer Maureen Orth's story, the Church community disliked Kidman so much that members were encouraged to boycott her films.

"The Scientology world hated Nicole," Brousseau, who left the Church in 2010, says. "People in Sea Org were mandated to see every freaking Tom Cruise movie that came out. But if you ever mentioned an inkling to see a movie with Nicole, oh my God, you'd hear about it."

The Church of Scientology denies the claims that Kidman was labeled an S.P. and that her children with Cruise were taught how to identify a Suppressive Person.

"The entire story is hogwash," the Church said.

Kidman, 45, is now married to fellow Aussie star Keith Urban, with whom she has two daughters: Sunday Rose, 4, and Faith Margaret, 20 months.

So is there any truth to this writer's claims? And if so, could Katie Holmes face a similar fate? Stay tuned...
