Curtis Stone and Lindsay Price were set up on a blind date. They've been together 13 years.

In 2009, Aussie celebrity chef Curtis Stone was set up on a date by a friend. His blind date was Lindsay Price, an American actress best known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210.

Initially Stone was opposed to the idea of meeting up with a stranger, labelling it "a bit awkward". But once he saw a photo of Price, he was hooked.

"I was like, 'I'll go on that blind date'," he told 9Honey.

Price ended up arriving 45 minutes late to the restaurant, whereas he was 15 minutes early. But they managed to hit it off.

"She's been late ever since. And I wouldn’t even change that. I think I knew pretty early that she was the one."

A few years after that first date, they welcomed a child together - son Hudson. Then in 2013, they married in an intimate ceremony in Spain.

"Thrilled to bits! To everyone out there, thank YOU for all your love and support! It was so special to share our big day with family and a small group of friends in Mallorca," Stone said

"She makes me laugh every day. She is the kindest person I have ever met. She is quirky, weird, creative, and extremely thoughtful. Oh yeah, and she has a great a**."

One year after their wedding, Price and Stone had their second child, son Emerson.

For Price, she explained to Haute Living that keeping the "spark alive" between herself and Stone has been important for their marriage.

"We have to extract the moments in simple ways every day. It's a matter of making the other person feel appreciated and valued. A post-it note on the bathroom mirror, a surprise bunch of flowers for no reason, an easy forgiving heart when mistakes are made. That kind of thing," she explained.

"And we do a few staycations here and there. A full eight hours of sleep, a pillow fight, and a long, uninterrupted conversation in a fluffy bed can do wonders for a marriage."

Just recently, the pair celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary together.

Reminiscing on what meal made Price fall in love with Stone, she said it was between two dishes. One was his chilli crab that he cooked on one of their first dates. The other was a fresh fettuccine with slow-braised beef ragu that he whipped up after bringing her home from hospital with their firstborn.

As for their family life, Price and Stone live in Los Angeles' Brentwood with their two kids, with Stone saying he chose to base his life in the US for work opportunities. He is also the owner of two restaurants in Los Angeles, Gwen and Maude, named after his grandmothers.

Reflecting on how he ended up in California, Stone said: "I fell in love and married Lindsay and this is where we are raising our sons. I just lucked out that LA also has a vibrant food scene, and it's finally getting its day in the sun and recognition on a global level."

Although Stone's career in the US is incredibly successful, he has the same level of fame in Australia as well. The couple were even recently featured on Celebrity Gogglebox Australia.

And just recently, Stone said he had considered moving with his family back to Australia amid the pandemic.

"I miss home so much. I haven't been able to get back for a year when I'm usually there every other month. However, for now, my and Lindsay's work keeps us in the US, but we never say never! You want to teach the kids more about their heritage because you're not around it. I don't know what will happen in the future, but I do hope that one day we'll move back," he told New Idea last year.

"I wish I could have my boys there more - and I wish they'd understand Aussie Rules football! But it's life and we'll get there one day."

Speaking of his sons, Stone said that being a dad is his "most important job".

"It makes you live a better life, for sure. It makes you pretty selfless. It's hard having a family and being a good chef. You've got to be in your restaurant and also be home and be a dad. It's a challenge."

As for Price, she said that with parenthood has come more sacrifices - specifically when it comes to career.

"Work used to be the number one important thing to me. Everything revolved around it and to have a new perspective and have something else, my family, not just being a mum but being a part of an incredible family of my own it makes me have a different perspective on life that I think is richer," she told Us Weekly.

As for raising kids in the privileged areas of LA, Price explained that keeping them humble and kind has always been their goal. Especially considering neither she nor Stone grew up in very rich families.

"We teach our kids that kindness is king, that empathy is a practice that hopefully becomes a way of life, and to not take themselves too seriously. Also, Curtis has taught them that Stone boys never give up, which is wonderful," she said.

"However, we are old-fashioned in our values and manners and might be on the stricter side of Los Angeles or Western parenting. There are clear boundaries. But we are so proud of them."

Price and Stone recently did a Sydney tourism campaign together, showcasing all that the city has to offer. So whether or not they'll relocate to Australia, never say never.
