We've learned how much Claudia Schiffer was paid for her 'Love Actually' cameo. Good god.

Yep, it’s that time of year again. The time of year where we watch Love Actually on repeat, and we seemingly learn a new mind-blowing fact about the film every day.

Today? It’s the staggering amount supermodel Claudia Schiffer was paid for her cameo in the film.

To recap: Claudia, who plays a woman named Carol in the film, has an adorable scene with Liam Neeson’s character, Daniel.

The pair meet in the halls of their children’s school, and later in an airport and exchange just a few lines.

Claudia's appearance is a reference to a joke Daniel makes earlier in the film, who says his wife requested he bring "Claudia Schiffer as a date" to her funeral.

The real-life Claudia appears in the film for just 60 seconds. It's so fleeting, that one could be forgiven for assuming the supermodel - who holds the record for the model with the most magazine covers - appeared in the film for next to nothing.

Perhaps she even did it for free. You know, in the spirit of Christmas and all that.

But according to a new book - titled How Much?!: The $1000 Omlette... and 1100 Other Astonishing Money Moments - the film's director paid Schiffer a staggering AU$349,000 for her cameo.

That's...that's more than AU$5,800 for every second she was on our screens.

The large sum is even more extraordinary when compared to some of the film's other stars, like Kris Marshall, who played loveable English lad Colin who jets off to America in search of "hotter girls".

Apparently the star was so chuffed that he got to spend a whole day "getting undressed by three American girls" that he handed his paycheck back to the film's director, Richard Curtis.

A Merry Christmas for Colin indeed. Oh, and also for Claudia. Cha-ching.
