Amazing news for injured Rugby League player Alex McKinnon.

Today’s Good News post is brought to you by Vaalia.

For the next four weeks, we’ll be bringing you a little dose of good news. Sometimes when we turn on the TV, radio or open a newspaper, it feels like everything in the world is just sad and wrong. But there are pockets of delight and happiness, which we’ll be uncovering and bringing to you.

“When life throws you struggles respond with a smile.”

That was the message posted by injured Knights football player Alex McKinnon last night on Instagram after he proposed to his childhood sweetheart Teigan Power.

“This girl is my soldier, I am truly overwhelmed with the support and wishes from everybody in the rugby league society and the community at large. Your ongoing support will never be forgotten,” he said.

McKinnon, 22, is in hospital with a broken neck after being injured in a tackle against the Melbourne Storm.

Last week, he was told he may never walk again. But he’s refusing to give up hope, saying that his main motivation now is to walk again, so he can lead Teigan down the aisle.

“So happy to announce Teigan and my engagement. #throughthickandthin #iwillwalkherdowntheisle,” he posted.
