10 Christmas gifs to put you in the holiday spirit

Deck the halls with these Christmas classics!

Okay, also togetherness, love, peace on earth and all that good stuff. But for the purposes of this article, it’s about the movies. To get you ready for the onslaught of holiday specials, here are gifs from 10 of the best Christmas movies out there.

1.) Home Alone

Is it even possible to sing I'm Dreaming of A White Christmas without slipping into a baritone and imagining little Kevin McCallister slapping some cologne on his face for the first time? The answer is no. In fact, you might just want to click here and let that play for the rest of this post.

2.) Elf

In tragic news, an elevator with these buttons does not exist in the Empire State Building (so reenacting it with your friends is off the table). But don't let that stop you from quoting your favorite lines, like "You sit on a throne of lies!"

3.) Christmas Vacation

Spoiler alert: the "gift" in that box doesn't last too long.

4.) Love Actually

"But for now, let me say -- Without hope or agenda -- Just because it's Christmas -- And at Christmas you tell the truth -- To me, you are perfect." I'm trying to maintain some semblance of manhood, but damn, this is a good movie.

5.) A Christmas Story

"THTUCK...THTUCK...ITH THTUCKKK!!!"

Flick, your infamous screams of agony mean the holiday season is finally here.

6.) It's A Wonderful Life

If Jimmy Stewart doing the Charleston in a school gymnasium doesn't put you in the holiday spirit, I don't think we can be friends.

7.) How The Grinch Stole Christmas

We honestly don't know what's better, the cartoon or the song: "I wouldn't come near you with a, bum, bum, 39-and-a-half-foot poleeee." Ok, maybe it's the song.

8.) A Charlie Brown Christmas

We still love this one -- and will always and forever refer to measly Christmas trees as "Charlie Brown trees" -- but the film isn't as beloved as it once was.

9.) The Santa Clause

Admittedly a pretty creepy gif, but the movie's still cute.

10.) Die Hard

"Silly Drew, Die Hard is not a Christmas movie," you say. But the only reason Detective John McClane flew to L.A. in the first place was for his wife's company Christmas party. Ergo, it's a Christmas movie. Flawless logic!
