Woman killed in hit-and-run following argument with man in Cairns.

A woman has died after being hit by a car following a verbal altercation with a man in Cairns.

Police said the woman, 63, was struck in the driveway outside a house on Paradise Close, White Rock, following the argument.

The woman was taken to Cairns Base Hospital with critical injuries but later died.

The man drove away from the scene after a female passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police are still searching for the pair.
