Talitha Cummins is making a return to morning television.

Eight months on from welcoming her son into the world, journalist Talitha Cummins is returning to morning television, appearing on Wednesday morning’s edition of Studio 10.

“I’m appearing as a guest and am very excited,” Cummins told Mamamia on Tuesday, adding, “The brain’s a bit rusty, but I’ll be in the safe hands of the Studio 10 greats.”

Having worked with Channel 7 for a number of years, 36-year-old Cummins is a face known to many Australians and says she's looking forward to taking a break from mum time with Oliver for a couple of hours.

"Conversations with my eight-month-old are very one sided, so I do hope they'll pull me into line," she joked

Prior to going on maternity leave in 2016, Cummins worked at Channel 7 for a number of years, notably on the breakfast show, Weekend Sunrise.

But nine weeks after giving birth, Cummins said she was informed by Seven News boss Craig McPherson that her contract would not be renewed.

She claimed she was then offered a position reading the 5am weekday news - a role that would require her to be on set at 2am each day and away from her newborn for much of the week.

Given the unsuitability of the role, Cummins believes she was forced out of the station and is now taking legal action.

Even if it is just a guest appearance on Studio 10, we're stoked to have her back on our tellies.

Studio 10 runs from 8.30am to 11am Monday to Friday.
