Lesbian mothers who murdered their two-year-old son given life sentences.

Rachel and Nyomi Fee have been given life sentences for the murder and abuse of their two-year-old son Liam.

Rachel Fee, 31, will spend a minimum of 23 and a half years in jail while Nyomi Fee, 29, faces a minimum of 24 years.

Liam was murdered at home two years ago after suffering gruesome abuse at the hands of his mothers.

The BBC reported Judge Lord Burns at the High Court in Edinburgh said the mothers had “grossly abused” their responsibilities as parents and inflicted a “cruel regime of neglect and ill treatment”.

A Scottish jury found lesbian couple Rachel and Nyomi Fee guilty of the murder of Rachel’s biological son early last month.

The conviction came after the couple’s other two children revealed key details to police.

The boys said they were forced to eat their own vomit, tied to a cage and kept in a room full of pet rats and snakes.

A recording played to the High Court captured one of the boys saying Rachel Fee showed him a drill-like device and said it was used for “chopping off willies”.

The children said they had been tied to chairs naked and left all night.

One boy told the court of being forced to eat dog poo and at times even his own vomit.

“I’d been sick in a bowl and she (Fee) made me eat it all. My sick. I kept spitting it out as well. I kept being sick,” he said.

“She held up a jacket so she couldn’t see me.”

The police officer who led the investigation into the death said the two-year-old was subjected to “horrendous abuse”.

It was reported Liam was found with more than 30 injuries including bruising around his private parts.

The couple denied killing the toddler and blamed his death on one of their other children.
