Guess what guys? It’s Friday – and that can only mean one thing. It’s almost the weekend! It’s time for another round of Best and Worst!
If you’re new to the post, Best and Worst is where you come and tell us… well, exactly that – what was the best and worst of your week? Think of it like the weekly coffee session with all your favourite girlfriends, the ones you can tell absolutely everything to. So take some time out from the busy week and come share your thoughts.
Here’s mine on the week that was:
Best: My childhood best friend got married! You know those picture perfect weddings that you see in movies? Yeah – she had one of those. I have never seen a calmer, more radiant bride than my beautiful friend. I had the honour of standing beside her as she married the love of her life, and I think I may have cried more than I did on my own wedding day! After forecasting torrential rain and the shivering cold, we were treated to one spectacular spring day that was just perfect for the outdoor wedding and reception. In fact the clouds didn’t dare roll in until we had finished the formalities and were beginning to pack up.
The best part is, not only is she now honeymooning on a secluded island off Thailand, but she also has a rad last name. Congratulations Mrs Badman!
Worst: The weather was so beautiful and warm that I came home with a wicked sunburn. Now I’ve had my fair share of sun-kissed skin in the past, but nothing tops the shade of lobster red I am currently sporting. Almost a week later I’m still painfully red and blistering, with only the beginnings of a peel. If you know of any secret sunburn remedies, feel free to share them.
OMM: Scandal is possibly my favourite television show ever. I secretly dream of one day joining the “Gladiators in Suits” (If you don’t get that reference, just watch the show. Trust me – it’s amazing!) Anyway, yesterday Mamamia posted a link to a scene from the show’s third season – which just happens to one of the greatest sexism takedowns OF ALL TIME. You can see it here.
Sarah has just finished her media degree at Macquarie, and is currently interning at Mamamia and iVillage. She’s a social media addict who loves a good book, and drinks copious amounts of tea. You read her online ramblings here or follow her on twitter here.
Over to you! So tell us, what was the best and worst of your week?

Best: Had a quick overnight trip to Brisbane during the week and had no problems with any of the 5 taxis I caught. 3 out of the 5 I had a good chat with and the other 2 were polite and at the airport they got my luggage in and out of the taxi for me.
Worst: People who ignore the cabin luggage limits on flights or are just extremely stupid and haven't read the limits on their tickets, the website when you are booking the flight and the numerous announcements made before boarding the flight. It's cheaper to pay $20 when booking your flight than being pulled up by a staff member when you are about to board and paying $15 per kilo and you save yourself the embarrassment of the other passengers thinking what a tight wanker you are.
Best: First exam done & dusted, exercising everyday
Worst: I have long term anxiety/depression
and I've struggled for years with feeling very isolated and lonely. I find it so hard to meet people I connect with and this isn't helped by my tendency to avoid socialising when I'm not feeling great. I have a few friends but they're mostly interstate and not anyone I really click with. I'm very close to my family and am terrified of the future and being alone. I'm 24 and feel like I should be looking toward the future and wanting to be independent but I'm scared and just wanna spend time with my family. Can anyone relate?
