Madonna kept Melbourne fans waiting four hours at her concert.

Professionalism appeared to walk right out the door last night at Melbourne’s Forum theatre when Madonna, 57, arrived on stage to perform for her fans more than four hours late.

The show, which is titled “Tear Of A Clown” and is supposed to be the pop star’s most intimate concert to date, was supposed to begin at 8.30am. But Madonna didn’t arrive on stage until 12.50am. As you can guess, people were not pleased.

It was cited that the reason for her extreme lateness was in fact she was simply not ready. She was still rehearsing behind the scenes right up until she went on stage. Adding to the pressure is the ongoing custody battle between Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Richie, 47, over their son Rocco, 15.

Yesterday Guy and Rocco attended more than six hours of legal hearing at the High Court of London, who will ultimately determine the teenager's fate. Meanwhile, Madonna dedicated her song 'Intervention' to Rocco during her performance on Thursday night, posing in front of a large portrait of him.

The concert ultimately ran for two hours in which the star dressed as a clown and played the ukulele.

Madonna is touring Australia until the end of the month, so here is hoping she manages to roll out on time in Sydney next week.
