Fluff, gossip, fashion: the lighter side of today's news

Amanda and Anne in happier non-wardrobe stalkery times

Anne Hathaway may or may not have had a hissy fit

You guys, did you get the message yet that Anne Hathaway’s Prada ‘nipple’ dress was not her first choice?

According to an anonymous and no doubt reliable source Anne Hathaway cracked it at Amanda Seyfried for daring to wear a really similar dress to the one SHE had picked to wear to the Oscars:

“Anne was like ‘WTF?!'” the source reports. “She started throwing a fit!” The 30-year-old Best Supporting Actress victor, however, “never told Amanda she had to change the dress.” Still, Seyfried, 27, was ruffled by Hathaway’s tirade. “Amanda didn’t want to deal with it and left” the rehearsal, the source notes.

Remember people, fashion is a serious business. Or something.

A Brazilian company auctions off a sex doll’s virginity.

So this is actually happening: A Dutch website is reporting that Brazilian sex toy maker Sexonico is selling a night with what they’re calling the most sophisticated “Real Doll” sex toy ever made.

Her name is Valentina (what a shame she wasn’t ready in time for Valentine’s Day) and the winner – along with the cred of saying you’re the first to have ever popped her cherry- will get flown to Sao Paulo to enjoy a romantic night at a luxury hotel.

The evening comes complete with a candlelit dinner, champagne and a romantic bath with rose petals – because it’s important to woo an inanimate object. Depressingly, the highest bid is currently at $50,000.

Taylor Swift’s new song about feminism is pretty catchy (and blunt)

Taylor Swift (or at least this parody of her) has quit penning songs about ex-boyfriends to write a tune about feminism. And it’s good. The three minute song focuses on the 22 US senators who voted against the reauthorisation of the Violence Against Women Act.

Really, America?

Gwyneth Paltrow admits see through McQueen Oscars dress was her worst style moment: should’ve worn a bra.

As Anne Hathaway knows, get your Oscars dress wrong and it’ll haunt you for years. Case in point: Gywneth Paltrow.

In her latest journal entry for her kale-loving lifestyle site Goop, she addresses something we all knew. She should’ve worn a bra in 2002.

Gywneth: “Well, I started being photographed in the 90’s so of course there are a few glaring ones. Two that come to mind are looks I wore to the Oscars in 2000 and 2002. The first is the Calvin Klein. It’s an okay dress but not Oscars material. I chose it because I wanted to disappear that year. Also, the goth Alexander McQueen I wore a few years later. There were a few issues; I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to – a little bit of punk at the Oscars.”

What’s your biggest fashion faux pas?

Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges splits with her husband

After nine years of marriage Michelle Bridges and her husband Bill Moore have decided to separate.

The pair married in 2003 after meeting at Moore’s gym are citing a lack of time to focus on their personal lives as a contributing factor.

Together they built the fitness empire that has come to emcompass cookbooks, the 12 Week Body Challenge and Bridges television career.
