1. No need for a passport

Despite being the most widely travelled head of state in history, the Queen does not hold a passport.

As the British passport is issued in the name of Her Majesty, it is unnecessary for the Queen to have her own.

However, all other members of the Royal Family, including Prince Phillip and Prince Charles, have passports.

2. Never eats seafood when away from home

To avoid a royal stomach ache, the Queen never eats seafood, rare meats or especially exotic foods while travelling.

According to the BBC however, she did once eat a sea cucumber while on a visit to China in 1986.

3. Often travelled with a case of Malvern water for making tea

Sources say the Queen enjoys a traditional English cup of tea every day at 5.00pm.

Her water of choice was Malvern water, which was sourced from the Malvern Hills in England, but it was sadly discontinued by Coca-Cola in 2010.

4. Does not travel with her own toilet seat

According to a royal official, the Queen is not fussy when it comes to sitting on the porcelain throne.

Although Prince Charles is known to travel with his own toilet seat.

5. Is fond of a chocolate mint after dinner

7. Her fourth birthday present was a set of wooden blocks

On her fourth birthday, the Queen was given a set of blocks that were made from 50 different types of wood found within the British Empire.

8. Her uncle, Prince John, was kept away from the public gaze

After being diagnosed with epilepsy, the Queen's uncle Prince John was hidden away from public view.

It is also thought that he had an intellectual disability and was possibly autistic.

He died at the age of 13.

9. Threw a shoe at Prince Philip during a royal tour of Australia

During a tour of Australia in 1954, the Queen and Prince Philip appeared to have a royal row on one of their rest days, with Her Highness launching a tennis shoe at the Prince as he stormed out of their chalet in the Yarra ranges in Victoria.

10. Skirts are weighted to avoid Marilyn Monroe moments

To prevent embarrassment in high wind, the Queen has pellets of lead or sometimes gold chains sewn into the hems of her skirts and dresses to keep them under control on blustery days — a handy hint the Duchess of Cornwall seems to have missed.
